Xbox 360 Controller

Is there a way to edit the common.ini without Linux? My Caanoo came installed with firmware 1.6.1 and my wired 360 controller won't work.

EDIT: Well I got it working. But it's literally impossible to set controls in mame because the left analog stick is never centred exactly. So the cursor will continuous move up or down.

For me it just works with a wired controller, with lights keep flashing. It is working without modifications on 1.61 and it was working without modifications on 1.60
If you have an x360 pad it's a must have! :D
Many Thanks! :D

I am trying to use one of these controllers:
http://www.amazon.com/Xbox-360-Rock-Band-Midi-PRO-Adapter/dp/B00409SOD2

But it does not work it powers but looks like it can never sync. Any ideas? Is this too far away from a normal xbox controller to work?
