Hi,

I'm planning of getting a new notebook... my favourite atm is the Fujitsu-Siemens Amilo 1630 notebook with an AMD64 processor...

I want to install WindowsXP 64bit Edition, as the beta is available for free download at Microsofts page.

Does anyone have experiences with WinXP 64bit?

Is it already good enough to run standard programs (OpenOffice.org, Opera, iTunes, etc.) and some games?
What about emulators? Do they run?

And: Can I use WinXP drivers (I don't care if a specific driver runs slower...)

Thanks for any info!

my dad has a laptop with 64bit and a lot of his programs don't work on it because they only work on 32. but i dunno what they are because i don't care. because i play games and i can probably run them.

Is your dad runnning Xp 64 bit or have a 64 bit processor, becasue all of my programs work with my 64 bit processor. Sorry though I've got no experiance with Xp64 ;)

we all know that evry "final" release of windows is in fakt a beta, so what doyu you think can you expect from something thats even labled beta?
