Is it possible to use the gp32 as a usb memory stick to backup pc stuff such as word documents ect.

That would be cool as you can use the gp32 as a backup device

Would that be like plug-in and play or would the computer that making the backup would have to have extra software on it.

Device like usb drives are plugin and play, that is really what i ment

The GP32 is not 'plug and play' so unless you want to take a floppy with the driver and pclink on with you it's a non starter :(

You'd be storing everything on a SMC, and you can buy plug and play usb smc writers pretty cheaply. About £10 for a cheap mail order one.

A lot faster than doing it through the GP32, and you could use different types of card as well, such as Compact Flash which go up to far larger capacities than SMC cards.

But to be honest, I don't know why you wouldn't be using blank CDs for backup - far more cheaper and practical.
