It seems unlikely that they're using arcade parts with actual microswitches. The base is not deep enough. That being the case, it's a bit of a gamble. If it's cheap enough, it might be worth a try.
Are you sure those "configuration buttons" AREN'T just normal buttons?
My Saitek controller's configuration buttons are just normal joy buttons and the CD comes with a software like AutoHotkey to do the remapping.
I don't have one of those, but I did take a gamble on one of these (it's got ten buttons, rather than thirteen, though), which seems to be a solid enough low-priced stick for general MAME usage. I'm not sure whether it would be suitable for, say, heavy fighter use, though.
if theres one thing ive learned through reading about these things its that the cheap sticks are not worth even the small amount of money that they cost. unless youre buying a stick that uses Sanwa microswitches then you'll most likely regret your purchase. sticks take a battering, and cheap sticks with cheap parts will let you down on special moves and will die fast,
given that, here is a stick that uses official sanwa parts and is (relatively) cheap.
