So.... being a Windows user, I have a question to all the linux gurus who use this console. Are there and "swap file" functions in the OS that would/or do allow the Caanoo to use part of the free SD space for RAM to pump up the performance overall?

I don't know, if the Caanoo-Linux includes these functions, but I don't see much use in them either, the console already has 128 MB of RAM, I can't think of any aplication, that a Caanoo is capable of running properly, that will need more RAM. Besides, it wouldn't lead to a pump up in performance, if the Caanoo starts swapping it's memory to SD card, cause the Read/Write speed of the device is rather slow.

I was wondering this as well - might work when using Gmenu2x like it does on the Dingoo....

On the Dingoo you need a linux kernel, that supports a swap file, the swap file is handled by linux, not by Gmenu2x.
