How good is the Pandora screen visibility outdoors in somewhat direct sunlight? I tried to do some gaming today in the nice weather, but the PSP-3000 and DS lite could barely be played.

Also, would the Pandora overheat in sunlight since it's in black?

Thanks :)

A bit difficult to see in the sunlight. The screen is not glossy, so as long as the sun isn't directly reflecting it isn't too bad.

I tried it briefly a few days ago, I was impressed when at full brightness.

My own shadow is enough shade even on the brightest of days to see it well enough: just face away from the sun and you'll be fine. I've spent many a day this past month enjoying both the outdoors and some retro gaming goodness.

I cannot say the same for my DS or PSP. My 3DS does pretty well in this regard as well, though the 3D effect is lost.

Greetings and welcome to the community.

Personally I always run my Pandora at the lowest brightness setting to save on battery-life. At this brightness setting, the screen is totally unreadable in sunlight. At maximum brightness it is quite usable, but finding some shadow will improve your experience.
