Saber suggests combining a Pandora case with a dock.

Given that this would have to be portable, what sort of extension bays/etc should such a thing have?

What size would be practical?

 • full USB 1.1/2 hub
 • spare battery charger
 • TV out with common connectors
 • Interfacing/protection hardware for GPIOs
 • better WiFi?
 • Optional Fancy sensor board (GPS+DVB+HSPDA+TLA+FLAP+ETC)

you could start basic, TV out and USB hub, some pin outs in the back and you have an expandable dock and you can modify away, you could add a 2.5"hdd, or a slot for it, it's be perfect for AKG Backup, slot in a cheap 80GB drive and you could have multiple backups (and regular, automatic updates).

For me, I'd like it to have a USB hub and a TV out so that I could connect my DVORAK keyboard and Retrode, using my iCP it becomes a home console and computer, just my thoughts, not everyone would want the same thing, some would want something like midi inputs which others would find useless.

 • USB high speed hub (2-4 ports), option to have it powered would be nice to have.
 • Ethernet port (connected through USB)
 • TV-out (regular S-Video connector)
 • Line in & Line out (L&R).
 • USB otg-port (if the dock covers the regular one)
 • Power connector (to charge the pandora and power the hub)
 • Perhaps some kind of commonly available connector for the remaining 6 GPIO ports (see connector pinout).

If a spare battery charger could be included as suggested by Binky, then it would be awesome if the dock could charge the Pandora and power the USB devices from the spare battery when it is not powered itself. This way it would effectively double the battery life of the Pandora.

Pandora battery should charge first (from mains/dock battery)

Dock battery should discharge first (to USB devices/pandora battery
