I'm looking for some software that can normalize the volume levels between music tracks of different genres when you're throwing together a compilation.. I used to use MP3 Gain which was great but it doesn't work on Windows 10, I know there is a lot of software out there but I need something that uses the Replay Gain algorithm.

Can folk here recommend something, preferably freeware but I'll pay if it's good.

Foobar2000 works on Windows: http://www.bobulous.org.uk/misc/Replay-Gain.html

And players are: http://wiki.hydrogenaud.io/index.php?title=Replaygain#Windows

Ah, the normal Wikipedia has a larger amount of Windows players (but not sure about the quality)

For the ones asking "What is that?"

And Pandora supports it, for example, Rockbox

you made two threads somehow
Stereo track?

MP3Gain, try turning off progress as that stopped it working on Windows 7 for me.

Was there not a reply of mine in the one that got hidden? I guess it's not important if IanJ's advice is correct.

FWIW, we have Mp3 Gain running on Win10. I'm not sure what configuration actions we needed to take to make it work.

On my windows 7 system it would load up fine but when I clicked to process files it would just lock up.

With the progress bar disable though it runs fine.

I emailed the author about it and asked if he had come across this issue (windows 7 was the main MS OS at the time) but he said he'd not encountered the issue so wasn't looking into it.

MP3Gain working perfectly on 10. The issue I have is that I actually have a lot of non-ascii file names on my computer and MP3Gain doesn't work with those (YUNG BAE feat. ИΔΤVИ - Bae City Rollaz.mp3, CVLTVRΣ - ☯TempleGold☯.mp3, 悲しい Android - Apartment - 恋に落ちます Tonight I meet You, and I totally fall in love あなたと.mp3...).

Not that I can see - although I don't know what happens if a thread gets locked while you're composing a reply...
