I have just been talking with the guy who coded Mya Mya Rocket and he is aware of the problem in the first version. He said that the problem was caused by a memory allocation problem.
The good news is he has fixed it but has had to remove the sound for the moment.
He has also changed the MyaMyas in size to make them fit in more with the game. I think this may also be covered in the update on his website when he gets a chance.
However one thing that did supprise me was that a multiplayer version even with 3 computer players instead of human players is not possible.
