What sort of error messages are you getting when you use MAME 5.1 All with your Cosmic Guerilla ROM?

First i tried to move the Rom to the "roms"-folder. Additional i maked an etry in "gamelist.txt". The game does'nt appeared.
After a hint to "clearmamepro" i tried this one.

I ececuted the following parts:

- Add DatFile There i used i file in th folder "dox" with the name"clearmame_roms"
- Klicked on the entry than:
- Load / Update
- under "setting" i add my new created folder. Whabt about "my backups to folder" and "download folder" ?!
I don't chnaged it.
- i closed the window on "X"
- than i klicked on "scanner"
- choosed "new scan"
- There appeared 2 windows. Statistic ans another one. I closed the "statistic window" .
- when i looked to the instructions on "http://gpnewbie.com/gp32/mame.htm" i should to copy my zip-rom to the second window with the "don't find" Roms.
- there appeared a window: "the dropped items will be rebuilet with the current rebulider settings. The "source" settings are ignored and illegal paths are skipped. Do aou want start ?"
- When a klick on "start" the programm work again. The scan window appeared again.
Ther is nothing in my created new folder !!!

I checked MAWS and my own set which work just fine. If clrmpro is not working you can always rebuild it manually.

Use a zip tool to copy the files into a cosmicg.zip file and place in mame roms folder. Then it will show up in the gamelist.

If you have a cosmicg.zip file and put it in the roms folder it should be in the list. Be sure the file contents are named as mentioned. If you need more help then google "help with zip" to rebuild the file. This is all that is required.

Even with an incomplete or wrong ROM set, as long as the filename is correct, the game should still show up.

For now, focus on making the game show up in the game selector.
- copy cosmicg.zip to the roms folder of mame4all (don't extract the contents)
- make sure the filename is correct (i.e. cosmicg.zip)

Hi !

With "GP2X 5.1 all it" don't work :( I moved the zip-file again in the ROM-Folder. Additionally i have edit the game in the gamelist.txt-file. I will try the "mame4all" in the next days.

No wonder it wasn't showing up, you're using 'MAME GP2X'. That's the older MAME for the GP2X, and it doesn't support cosmicg.zip. Use MAME4ALL instead. B)

Adding the filename of the game to the gamelist.txt won't do anything, since that is just a static text file for us to view. (i.e. you don't even need to copy it to the SD card)

Hi !

I have written about the version in my first edit ?!

Hucky
So you did. Was overlooked. :(
I'm used to keeping all my stuff up to date. Was too eager to help. Oh, well.
BTW, I don't think editing the gamelist makes a difference. The supported drivers are compiled into the binary. You can't add new games that way. Have to wait for a new version.

Hi !

It works wits mame4all but without sound ?!
By other games like "donkey kong" the sound is distorted and faulty.
Adittionally i'm not able to rotate the sreen for a vertical game ?

How i confirm the "ok"-query ? After pushing some buttons this screen is gone.

Please help

Hucky

Sorry about that, I didn't notice until later. :p

You need the sound samples for a couple of the games, to have the correct sounds; both cosmicg & dkong need this.

Download this, and copy the contents to the samples folder:
CODE
http://archive.gp2x.de/cgi-bin/cfiles.cgi?0,0,0,0,73,2511

Press Left then Right to confirm.

These and additional information can be found in the readme. ;)

Hucky
In the configuration screen, change the Video Aspect to Rotate (using the L or R shoulder buttons).
