i can't believe it myself, but it's not in the carrying case, and it's not anywhere to be found, and the last time i saw it was last night on the bus. i remember trying to juggle my gf's mp3 player, the takeout from the restaurant, and some other items... and we got off at our stop in a hurry...

going to call the transit lost and found tomorrow, but what are the chances of it being there? i'm quite annoyed with myself. i use the GP2X practically every day, from games to reading text files - and it was a combination xmas/bday gift from my brother. i've only had it since June! it could be worse, i know - at least my place wasn't broken into and it stolen from there, as i've read happened to some other unfortunate people on this board.

Geeze man, I feel for ya. That's really rotten...

Your only chance is if it was that bus's final run and it went to the depot to be cleaned right afterwards -- and even then, you're relying on the honesty of the person who finds it.

Good luck anyway, it's worth checking.

I very much doubt it would have been handed in, unless you were sat near the front of the bus where old women sit :) If you were sitting at the back then some greasy kid probably has it up on ebay already.

You never know it may turn up somewhere at home. I thought i had lost my passport a couple of months back, rang the passport office to cancel it and it turned up in a drawer!! :)

Well if you have house insurance then you can always claim it with that. I'm covered, so if anything happens to my beloved handhelds then I can claim. Thank god my missus works for an insurance broker

One time I left my SLR camera on the campus bus. About 10 minutes later I realized it and I ran full speed back to the bus stop I got off at. The very same bus came by as I was getting to the bus stop, and my camera was still there! I think I got lucky though. Hope you get your gp2x back :(

Im sorry man, that's terrible. But dont lose hope just yet, stranger things have happened.

I lost my father's diamond/sapphire gold ring in junior high school. I took it off for a paper mache project, and I guess it fell out of my pocket.

I was pretty depressed, but believe it or not some immigrant janitor who spoke no english found it and returned it.

As I said, stranger things have happened :D

I left my backpack, passport, wallet etc on an amtrak train and saw it disappear into the horizon one time. All I wanted was a milkshake and a crispy bar from the station. Come back out, and the bloody train had gone. Everything showed up later in the Lost Property dept and nothing had been taken, even the GP32 at the time :)

just talked to the lost & found... they didn't have it :(

of course, the other times when i left my (military-surplus) jacket and (cheap) sunglasses on the bus... l&r didn't have those either.... doesn't inspire one with much confidence of ever getting one's stuff back, no matter the value.

damn that really sucks, i give you sympathy (hope you find it)

well, my brother got me a new one as a combination birthday/xmas present for *this year, so i'm back in the scene!

this one was purchased at gp2xstore.com ... i have to compare the two i've had, now. the build quality seems to be slightly better on this unit, and the joystick feels noticeably sturdier. the screen does seem to be a bit more 'flickerly' when viewed from a bottom angle, and i think it has a somewhat more difficult time registering 'down' presses on the stick.

I feel for you man, I'd hate to lose my baby. I guess that's part of the trouble with public transportation, fortunately that doesn't exist in America *salutes the flag*

If you can find the bus it'll likely still be there - it's not like it's a PSP or anything, nobody will have stolen it ;)

Hope you find it!

I skimmed, rather poorly I must admit.

But come on, mine is even more ironic and cunning now ;)

do you people actually read the posts?

... many don't bother reading readme files or forum rules regarding grave-digging either :p
