I've looked at the tips & tweaks thread, I've done a search, and I've read the IOquake3 Readme. It is not apparent to me what files need to be copied from my desktop installation to the 'quake3' folder inside appdata.

... or anything else I might need to do.

Help please somebody?

you need the pak0.pk3 and pak1.pk3 files from the actual game, I had the full game but I think you can get these from the demo version.

You get these files and place them in (SD card)> pandora > appdata > quake 3 > baseq3

I had trouble with this at first, if you try and run quake 3 on the Pandora it will create the folders you need.

You'll get the files you need from (Disc that the game was installed on) > quake iii arena > baseq3.

I hope this helps.

It may ask for a key code when you start up, but just hit enter.. Also with the default controls don't touch the left nub or you will start steering in all crazy directions.

I found that, using the right nub I also found I had to turn the sensitivity all the way down otherwise even the slightest up/down motion would send me pointing straight up or down.

Thanks! You guys are the best! What a great community... :)

@TrashyMG: Can I put in my keycode? I see it's not necessary, but it would be nice if the keycode request screen didn't pop up every time I wanted to play.

@Blue Protoman: Where do I get or how do I make the PND_pre/post scripts??

I think you can.. I just can't find my code.. I bought the Linux Version of Quake3 that came in the metal case, the code was printed on a piece of card stock that seems to be missing. I remember the Windows version had the code on the Jewel Case.. but I can't find my Windows copy of the game..

You were the first one to reply to that thread! You tell me!

Yeah I remember now - but I never actually got around to doing it, so forgot - lots of other things took priority. Now it is at the top of my list. ;) Thanks again for going to the trouble of making that tut. Going to see If I have any success implementing it now. Wish me luck!

Wasn't too much trouble, actually. But I'm not the only one who should be credited; I just wish I remember who should be!

My right nub is giving me serious problems again. And the first time I tried your scripts... nothing happened. But there's no point going on right now - this nub is an issue. I really think it's faulty on a hardware level. I may have to accept partial nub functionality and resign myself to the necessity of an RMA at some point. :(

Hm... Did you try rebooting? Post another thread.

Yes yes yes... I've gone through all this before - Even tried helping other members with their nub problems. Bottom line: Down on my right nub sometimes goes away completely, after resetting/rebooting/taking out the battery/nub dance (I do different combinations of these until is works) I am able to get full range of motion back (but it jumps from about 0 to 28/32 in every direction). As the only 'nub game' I've tried thus far has been Super Geometry Dust - and right nub is to shoot, this seemed good enough for me.

However, now that I *need* the nub to transition smoothly from 0 to 32 so that I can mouse look effectively in Quake III, it glaringly apparent that my right nub is faulty, even at it's best.

I'm going to repost this in my other thread concerning nub issues.

Now onto your scripts:

I deleted the lines you said needed to be added to adjust sensitivity so that it was the vanilla scripts for swapping nubs that your tut describes. I tested them with abiword - they work perfectly.

So I copied the scripts into /appata/quake3

Running Quake III, and there is no change whatsoever! But it seems to me the default of having the right nub to mouselook and dpad to move was an ideal setting anyway. But with my crappy right nub, I'm going to try set it up that left nub is mouselook, ABXY is movement, and UP/DOWN/LEFT/RIGHT replaces whatever was assigned to ABXY.

Strange, for me the left nub was default, then I used my scripts. Did you play the game for the first time AFTER installing the scripts?
