Yeah, ive started contributing to the GP2X scene so heres my first release, its a beginners guide to the GP2x

*Note - this is in no way a replacement for the GP2X User Guide by Guyfawkes, its just a more simple and less detailed guide for Starting up the unit for the first time.
( if your like me and didnt have adobe reader and got confused by the korean manual ^-^ )

Heres the link LINK

I used some images from Minivian.com and some text from the GP2x user guide but i noted that in the guide.

Please leave some comments or stuff ^-^

EDIT - link changed

Hello all,

We have a small set of things that we do not allow on GP32X! Keep away from these things or you may be warned, suspended from posting for a few days, or banned permanently!
[snip]
- posting in the wrong forum
- posting the same article in both the news and general forums
you posted it 3 times, 1 time at general and 2 times in news, great that people read the stickys/big text boxes on top.

You also hosted the .zip in the GP32 archive

I perused it, and found it very kind and friendly for N00bs. Nice job :)

omg really? i did? dude i SUCK at this forum thing dont i.....

is there anyway to change it to the gp2x archives?

You can edit/delete/move your file ... I'd do it for you, but my login isn't being recognized there ATM <_<

Edit: I was able to login ... can't do it for you ... just login, delete the file, and re-upload it to the GP2X/Misc. section :)

okay its been reuploaded to the GP2X archived (woot)

bear with me guys, hopefully soon ill stop making noob mistakes on these forums,

oh and i CAN actually draw good, the style of the Guide is minimalistic,
check my website if you wanna see better drawings,

and i can and probably will help out developers with logos and icons and stuff for their software, unless im halfway through my animations at the time ^-^

Nice.

If I didn't hate graphical signatures I would definately use this as my sig:

lowbatteries2sz.png

The only thing I would say is that jpg is not usually the best file type for text. Maybe gif or png would have given you a slightly crisper look to the fonts?

That's a worthy additon to the GP2X documentation.
You might want to add which button to press to exit a menu. e.g Click b to select video, then select to exit back to the main menu. Also a little on nand/sd access. Initially my wife always assumed you selected NAND to get at stuff.
Perhaps re-arrange a little to show formatting the card first, then how to access the filesystem on the gp2x.
The only thing I can think of is that it needs prominence. It would defintely be handy as a small booklet in the box of a new machine. A lot of new users might not think to go hunting in the file archive for it.
Good work.

thanks guys, yeah ill be updating it as i go along, got lots of drawings, animations and stuff to do in university as well ^-^

The reason i havent put any thing about the menu/nand/firmare side of things on it is
because the new firmware should be out soon, and im going to update it from the viewpoint of the new firmware ^-^

yeah ill be updating quite a lot, and any requests to redo any other stuff ill gladly take on
