Anybody know any handhelds designed around fighters - ie, 6 buttons by the thumb?

I have the Blaze one, they do a couple models, one with just 4 buttons [sonic and SOR editions] ... one with 6 buttons [the SF2 edition]

they pretty decent imo.

Can load up the micro SD with loads of megadrive roms and you good.

the same company have a new console coming out in a matter of weeks, days, which i will most likely be buying, but that new one is another 4 button.

heres the 6 button one on amazon, about 35 quid:

Oh wow, thanks... I did search, but couldn't find anything.

Urm, it says "large 2.8 inch display". Is it really? because that's smaller than my phone's display

Are they still using the horrible emulation solution that crashes at random, and constantly locks up if you use the TV-out feature, as the previous licensed Mega Drive handhelds from this company (Blaze sells them here, but they're actually made by an outfit called AtGames) do?

Currently the Pandora is your best bet. ;)

Actually, I find it quite awkward with those keys, and even more-so with the shoulder buttons; hence why I asked if there were any 6 button "designed" handhelds.

Sadly, most options have been shown here, and for the most part they suck. I'm not sure, but you may be able to get a good Saturn 6 button USB pad(one of the best fighting controllers ever), and run it thru your Pandora(if you have one). Good luck!

I do, but the plan was for something that didn't require me to carry a peripheral. Oh well :)

Thanks for all the links everyone

Loving that Open Pandora pic with the relevent 'O' and 'P' keys showing only!

pmprog, it is only a small screen on the Blaze im afraid, not as nice as a larger phone screen or Pandora's but i find it ok to play on myself. It is small though compared to most screens you find these days.

Prometheus, Ive not had any glitches with mine, ive had pretty decent sessions on it too, over an hour at a time, though most often its a quick burn of something for ten mins, but i have played for an hour or more with no problems. I got my one about 4 months ago now, so it maybe running a dif emu for all i know? I dont use the TV out either so cant comment there.

I have an xbox for megadrive games on the large screen, so i tend to pick the Blaze up for its portability and to take when im on buses or whatever.

The company are also involved with this, its the other one i mentioned im waiting for: http://www.gamegadget.net/

the footer states is a blaze company. Only the 4 buttons though so no good for pmprogs use.

Personally i think the Pandora is best option, even though i not even help one myself.

Not meaning to sound like money is easy come by, i know its not for the most of us, but these blaze are under 40 quid, might be worth seeing how you get on with it and its small screen, and if you dont like it put it on the bay and you shouldnt lose out more than a few quid.

edit -------- probably because of the smaller screen, i do find the battery lasts well on my Blaze btw
