I've boughten my GP32 and cannot wait for it! I want to start playing around coding for it. I've seen something called geepee32 before?

I downloaded it but do I need to get the firmware or bios from somewhere to make it work?

Thanks!
Andy

if you cant wait then i am sure that there is someone out there who has decided to leave their bios lying around on the web,, if someone posts the filename of it then you should be able to find it,, or i think you could use a free bios/fw like most have on their gps,,
anyhow welcome,, welcome,, btw did you get a blu or flu???
flus rules,,,

Welcome to the scene Andy :)

Yes you do need a dump of the firmware, just wait until your GP32 arrives and then make the dump.

Thanks for the welcome :)

You can also use a custom firmware from here: http://www.gp32x.de/cgi-bin/cfiles.cgi?0,0,0,0,42

Beware though, that Geepee is only used for testing stuff and taking screenshots, it's not pretty optimized in terms of speed!

That is ok, I just want it to test code samples to get me started early :):)

Do most people flash their firmware to a non standard release? I got the 166mhz blu. Should I have gotten a Flu?? I thught Blu was latest + greatest hehe. What would be really cool is if we could get a 266mhz hehe.

No it wouldn't be cool! Batteries of GP32 last for ages (20+ hours at least?)

Whereas PocketPC runs an ARM at 300mhz and the batteries last for about 3 hours!!!

Believe me there is a STEEP tradeoff!

Geepee32 is ok, but I need sound, and the other 3 DMA channels before I can continue on my current coding project... :(

Oh, and to solve the battery problem, we should get one of those rechargable lithium batteries with the hand crank. :p
