Hey now that mame 1.9 is out for the 2x the compatibility list on the wiki needs a definate update. If evryone was to help out and add at least two games to the list it would be very nice. I Just added my two. Thanks in advance to all who help. :D

You can visit the Gp2x Mame wiki HERE.

God idea, but 1942 does not run perfect. It still has the freeze bug :(

I've added Aero Fighters just now:

Aero Fighters Mostly Works 1.9 Runs at acceptable speeds at 200 MHz, tested to run at at or near 100% speed with 0 frameskip at 290 MHz, would probably be very fast at lower clockrates as well. No apparent graphical glitches found yet, gameplay intact, but music stops playing before the game starts and only sound effects remain.

Metal slug runs great but with occational slow down.

Bear in mind Metal Slug/2/X/3/4/5 lag on the original hardware as well. Some of what you see is probably 68000 lag, not ARM920T lag. :) Try cranking up Video Clock to accelerate the 68000 clockrate, but you will also increase load on your GP2x's CPU and need a higher ARM9 clockrate to accomodate it. ;)

No problem. As I have the complete ROM set, whenever I find my gp2x again ill start a compatability list of everything missing.

Is the author of this emulator a poster on GP32x? I wanted to ask about the ETA til the Cave driver will be supported so 16 MHz 68000 games like Donpachi, Dodonpachi (ddonpach), Esp.Ra.De (esprade), Dangun Feveron (dfeveron), Guwange (guwange) et al might be supported. The CPU cores required to run them should be in place now, and with some decent overclocking they should all run well. They're major shooters in the Bullet-Hell shooter realm, and it would mean a ton to me were I Finally able to play them in a portable format!

Same goes for some other 68k shooters like Mars Matrix (Mmatrix), Giga Wing (gigawing), Strikers 1945 I/II/Plus (s1945, s1945ii, s1945p)! :)

Also just a side note about Aero Fighters (aerofgt) which I added to the wiki, it expects rom files in the romset from a very old MAME Version, and a modern romset for say, 0.9x or up won't work. I had to dig around on the 'net to find a copy that worked, as it needed files that aren't present in newer distributions of that romset...

Yes the author (Franxis) posts on gp32x quite often.

What you require is a mame rollback romset. I'll say no more .

I'm going to have to try this new version of MAME GP2X out. I've got one of the older versions and about the one game I've played on it is Gauntlet. I wish there was some way of filtering the games into categories, like MAME32.

Are you testing using MAME_DR.Z80?

Yes. Most of MAME's default cores are really freaking slow. :p Of course, they are C.. DrZ80 is a welcome addition, so is Cyclone.
