I've downloaded the geepee32 emu to see what its like and it says you need a file fw157e.bin.
I'm not asking where I can download this file.
I'm asking is it ok if I ask where I can download this file?

:D

it's actually mind boggolingly easy to get it than you think.
but i can't tell you because i'd probably get told off for doing so.

but its good for testing and such but is way to slow for games and the like

Get it by running dumpfw on a real GP32 and getting your firmware from that, then rename to fw157e.bin or whatever. Telling you where the actual file is, is just as illegal as telling you where warez is, I'm afraid.

I don't think the geepee32 emu is used for playing warez at all. I used it for developing for 4 to 5 months b4 i even thought of buying a gp32 (just brought it for the board really) but if they do have the emu running they would only be running free games that every1 has made and emu and playing the emu on the pc using the gp32 emu isnt worth it.

The gp32 emu isn't fast enough to play them at a good speed anyway. It is for dev purposes only i mean it has no sound

Still i can see why you don't like it cause of the bios file. If it could hurt gamepark in anyway i wouldn't like it.

I don't think the point is that people are saying that running the emulator is a bad thing. People are commenting on the firmware files which is technicly illegal to own if you don't own the console.

Hey, having the emu is cool and all. It's like angrypants said, it's illegal to possess the official firmware without the actual console. I think it's great for devloping while you're bored at work or something. :D

Out of interest, does anyone know if GeePee32 is still being worked on? It's ok for development use, but lack of sound, the way that if your program crashes it will probably crash GeePee32 (so you can't use it to debug), and the way it accepts misaligned opcodes means there is a lot of room for improvement.

It says it is (in)active on firefly's website.
