Gee Pee 32

Short answer: don't bother, it's going to be too slow to be enjoyable.

Long answer: Install GeePee32, download the SNES emulator you want to use, use the virual SMC maker to put ROMs onto a virtual SMC (make sure to put them in the correct directory, usually gpmm/snes). Launch GeePee32, insert the virtual SMC card, launch the SNES emulator, load the ROMs, play at approximately 10FPS or so.

I'll elaborate the short answer: Don't bother. Why? Because if you want a SNES emulator on your PC you can do 1000 times better than emulating an emulator that isn't full-speed on its own hardware yet. Try ZSNES (Its a hard URL to figure out, but I bet you can do it). On the other hand, if you want to try out the emulator to see how good it is before you buy a GP32, its still pointless. Emulators run MUCH slower on GeePee32 than on the actual hardware.

i know that(heck, i use it) but im just trying to make my decision on wether to buy me a gp32

Unless you aint got the money, and you still can not make up your mind whether to buy a GP32 after spending a couple of days on these boards then maybe it is not for you.

But think on what you'll be missing out on!!!!!!!!!!!!

I use mine every single day, sometime only for a hour often for ever, pisses my wife off no end, but still!

Take the plunge, if you like what you've seen so far you will not be disappointed.

and if you are then sel it on ebay and get your money back anyway

GeePee32 is 10x slower than a real GP32. It's purpose is not to replace the GP32 (which would be pretty stupid, seeing as the point of a GP32 is being portable), but rather for developers to test code, users to test compatibility, and websites to get screen shots. Actually playing games in GeePee32 is like living in the Matrix's BulletTime.

If you are buying a GP32 strictly for SNES emulation, I'd wait. While SNES emus are in the works and being promised, none play full speed with full sound yet.
