hi can i format my inserted sd card in the pandora to ext2 or fat32?
i don`t want to buy a sd card reader for only this task...

It might still be a good investment. Reasons I can think of:
  • The only approved formatter so far is the Panasonic SD Formatter, from http://www.sdcard.org/consumers/formatter/
  • When downloads or transfers are gumming up directly from the Pandora, or if you need to reflash, you've got a PC-based solution to get you out of a bind.

Yes.
If the Pandora has the Disk Utility (Main Menu -> System -> Disk Utility) You can format it all manner of ways using a nice GUI.

*** I don't have a pandora in front of me, so this might not be 100% accurate.
From the command line to format it to Fat32:
Insert your memory card, open a terminal and type:
Code:
df
sudo umount /media/[mount name]
sudo mkdosfs [name of device]
df will tell you the device name of your memory card. Probably /dev/sdb1 for slot1 and /dev/sdb2
for slot 2. It will also give the mount name for said device.

Remount it (I'd just reinsert the card)

SDs can get a bit temperamental when formatted using the OS's generic utilities. See this thread, for instance.

I doesn't have Gparted or any formatting utility sadly.
