Finally, a game that surpasses GBA in graphics

Erm...it's a commercial game, and it'll be out by the end of the year. I'll just copy/paste my post from 2 days ago:

Eternity has put up an official site for their upcoming strategic RPG "Goddess Saga" here. It's a hex-based warfare game with an in-depth combat engine, and boasts 19 unique character classes, including Wizard, Knight, and Nurse. 9 of these classes have been revealed; the rest are still under wraps.

Battles look pretty hectic, judging from the 13-character melee in one of the screenshots. The special effects, characters, and backgrounds are all quite detailed.

Character bios and a plot summary are also on the site, though I can't make heads or tails of what they mean, as it's all in Korean (and Babelfish only makes it more confusing).

Goddess Saga should be commercially released in late 2003.

Some more information is at Insert Credit via GPZigi.

Anyone hear if the game will be translated? Seems like the thing to do if there really will be a Europe launch, but it would be a huge load of work I'm sure.

This might just be the game that the GP32 needs in order to turn the heads of GBA owners...IF it gets translated into English.

Agreed; it could potentially be the killer app for the European launch if it were translated.

the graphics arnt better, it just seems like it because the artwork is fucking incredible. Very very nice.

However, I would have to say Doom wins out, I'll need to take some screenshots to compare properly, but the GP32 port of Doom is just so much better than the GBA now.

Here's the problem with that, though.. it wins over the homebrew crowd, but not a lot of "regular" users who just want a GBA with a flashcart. I've showed Doom to a few of my friends, and they basically said "so what? I played that on my 486 years ago." It didn't matter that it was better than the GBA port, they just didn't care.

So I'd say new (good) games like this one definately help a lot.

Once more fullspeed emus come out, people will change their minds. But I dont mean fullspeed with frameskip on 9 and sound turned off, I mean a really good running emu.

People went ape over the doom port for gba, so whats wrong with the gp32 one? I thought people liked free games that included fullspeed as well as good graphics and sound.

i showed Doom to a number of work guys on the GP, and they were all amazed by this beast... and there all closing or passed 30.

The reason your friends said 'so what' to GP doom.... is cause there jealous  moahahahaha
