It seems that these forums have some industry related folk. Anybody can answer this question?

Well, it depends on who you are, how many you have bought, how many you intend to buy, credit history, etc...

If you want to buy < 1000, I'd expect the price to be between $50 and $100 each.

If you can even obtain them they will be very expensive. Consider an 800mhz OMAP3 is ~$80 @10,000.

I didn't know they did a 800Mhz version, but I can get the 720Mhz part for $50 each with a MOQ of 100, so that seems a tad expensive.

(The only reason I know is that I added the part to a BOM price request to one of our suppliers, and that figure came back on the part)

They do, but I think because of the added work to obtain them (ie even more binning) they are prohibitively expensive.

The price may have come down since, this was in November or December when I got that quote.

Is the OMAP3 price for 3440 or 36xx? The latter is on a smaller process so I don't expect the same limitations for clock speed.

Also: you can buy an 800MHz i.MX51 for $38.70 @ 84 units on Digikey (probably less elsewhere). That's the 515, which has everything.

Other options are Samsung S5CP100 and chips based on Snapdragon, Marvell Armada, and some other upcoming Cortex-A8 SoCs. I don't think any of these are being sold to distributors like TI and Freescale are selling OMAP3 and i.MX51.

I don't know if anyone is selling Cortex-A9 SoCs in quantity at all. Best bet is nVidia.

Yeah 80 sounds too strange for me. I asked for a net industry market price, not something else. Even intel this days runs their top atoms at 65$ @ 1k. Is there are so much difference between A8 and A9 that makes socs based on A9 3 times more expensive? I heard that pilot shipments of A9 based socs are going at 45$ @ 1000. Also 3*** omaps and all imxes up to date are A8 based
