Something I was looking a while during me 'linux investigation' days

Should help some people get to grips with command line.

On a side note, what can gplinux do at the moment?
well
you can plug usb devices like memory stick and other memory devices
you can plug usb wifi devices
so you can surf using wifi -> webbrowser, irc, telnet, ftp, msn messenger
we are working on a graphical interface
-> microwindows/nanox release : so you can have several apps in different windows at the same time : try it

give us some feedback
and what apps (that could work on gp) would you like ...
there is a mp3 Player, but we have some glitches because of some problem with the sound driver

cyberic compiled a mpg/avi player but i didnt test it

well there are all kind of possiblities if you have some imagination ...
but it requires some time more work as we have few memory

If I have a chatboard, is it possible to first launch linux and then type in the progs name and launch it, instead of having to edit the start file?

to launch some apps, you need to set some envinronment
parameters

so what you can do is make a script that set those parameters
and launch the program you want
( that s what start is about)
so you could make more start like files for those applications you want to launch

with chatboard you can explore the command line and lauch
start that lauch nanox
once inside nanox you have a launcher for graphical applications
you can type L+R to kill nanox and come back to command line interface
have to work on a graphical app for nanox that let you access
command line

someone here on this forum talked once ( long ago) about a virtual keyboard module he tested for gp32linux ... if he can reply .... thanks

also notice that there is a virtual keyboard included in nanox
but i have still to test iy, i think it still needs some work to make it work

erm... has the usb project finished then? (ie there was something about problems with power source)

i am still waiting for someone to make some device
to power the usb port/usb hub wit aa batteries ....

anyone skilled in electronics ???

[otherwise you have to be near a power socket ( is it the right word ? ) ]
