Recovering Jerk-A-Holic
Hi all, I need some help/advice on a bricked GP2X I have.
When you turn it on there is no response, a millisecond flash of white (not always), and then totally blank. The power light is on.
I built a Wiggler cable and got it running with OCD Commander (it needed pins 8 and 15 soldered together besides the 4 + Ground for the communication), It says the proc is in Debug. I have downloaded and run the u-boot.elf, and when I tell it to go 0x3f00000 I get colored lines across the screen, and then nothing happens, it is the same as before on re-boot.
I have told it to "go" all by itself, as it says it is at address 0x3f00000 and ready. Same.
I got the GP2XRecovery prog and the same happens, I will attach the output when I can. It did a memory write starting at 0x3f00000, then it got to step 11 and had 2 SUCCESS messages. Then said it couldn't do something with giveio.sys, I started messing with that, and I need to re-boot to stop the service now (and no, it doesn't show in the Services section of Administrative Tools)
This is WinXP SP2 on a VIA P4M900M2 if that makes any difference.
Is it possible that any of this is related to the SD card slot, it doesn't click in and out like it should (like there is no spring). I have tried with only uboot200.bin on a 1GB SD card, and a 128MB SD card. Before I copied that I formatted the cards to Fat32.
Any thoughts would be appreciated. I can tweak the SD slot or solder any of the SMDs, but they looked fine (cursory, not microscope inspection), I just don't know where the problem lies.
