Atari ST games

Nice link, hopefully it doesn't get overloaded :). Having never been an ST user, does anyone have suggestions for "primo" games that must be tried? TIA!

i havent tried the ST emu yet - i was under the impression it was still running too slow for any game play. am i correct or does it work ata good speed?

cheer Gary (got a few games from the link though, just in case { ^ _^ }

Dungeon Master + Chaos, Oids, Virus, Elite + Frontier, Midwinter, Sensible Soccer, Stunt Car Racer, F1GP, Star Wars, Starglider 2, 3d pool,

I could carry this list on for a good while yet but I think there is enough there to sample the Atari.

It runs plenty fast nowadays; it just has no controls yet :/

The next update has a cheap menu so you can select which disks to use when running, so you dont' need pclink to muck around. But still workign on controls :/

Wowowowow!

Hehe - just tried CaSTaway for the forst time, and got to say that I'm well impressed!

Booted several disks with no problems! Cant do anything after that, mainly due to the lack of a keyboard input. BUT - can't wait for it to get better! Never thought I'd say this about an Atari ST, but BRING IT ON!

hehe

Keep up the good work!

I'll post an update tomorrow; includes a menu to pick which disks to boot from (so you can install a pile to your SMC and pick at runtime which is disk A and B), and the mouse works, and I'm working on a simple keyboard so you can start up from warez disks, etc. Improved compatability, too.

So this is shapign up *really* nicely :)

Fantastic work!!
Will you add full keyboard support? That would be great to play Sierra adventures ;)

Hey, someone else who likes old Sierra games! And before someone mentions Sarien, I did some looking and there are games available for the ST that won't run w/ Sarien :).

Edit: Okay, I _think_ there are, if not don't shoot me. We'll see, probably after the next version or two of the emu... I'm hoping a couple of the later games might be SCI versions too.

It likely wouldn't be worth playing the text adventures ni the ST emu.. ie: The d-pad is just not suited to text games. ie: I did think about porting an Infocom system over to the GP32 (I've written one), but it'd suck. It almost is a drag on PDA's, and they have grafitti and a stlys.. so a d-pad would really annoy you quick. At least Sierra has some mouse work... but Infocom would drive you nuts :)

I'm focusing the ST towards the mouse and joystick games, at least for now :)

Still only low res; I may add medium res, too, for the text games and some med res games that I liked.. but most peopel woudl only play Time Bandits and stuff, all in low res :)

jeff

The keyboard is like:

QWERTYUIOP 123
ASDFGHJKL 456
ZXCVBNM 789

That sort of thing. Enough to get by, but I'll expand it :)

OMG.............

I was an Amiga guy and never knew the Atari ST had such a HUGE library of great games! I just dl'ed a TON of those ST disks and tried a bunch on the STeeM emulator for PC. The ST was really superb! I'm very impressed, and so many of my favorite games have ST versions that are very good!

I cannot believe the GP32 will be able to play all this wicked stuff. Amazing...

If he can get the GP32 Atari ST emulator running full speed with sound and good compatability, then I may have all the games I'll ever need ever. What will I do with my GBA?!

_ST_unned. :)
