Any Video Encoders To Be Available?

I realise that even without re-encoding that movie playback could be (i'm taking a guess here...) 7 hours maybe, just a wild guess, but i would like to eek every last bit out of the battery i can.

Playing any video you should get at least 7 hours, if not 9-10.

The Pandora may be capable of accelerating xvid/h264 shortly after launch. Even if it doesn't use the DSP for that, xvid shouldn't hammer the CPU that hard. Batery life will still be close to 10 hours.

There's really no reason to re-encode video, if you download something standard dvd resolution or less it should play fine on your screen. Resolution of the video should not significantly alter your battery time.
