    Still Plans For Webcam Feeds?

If the wi-fi connection is a bit dodgy ED could set up a time-lapse camera and upload to youtube later. It would be pretty cool watching a whole days work in about 5 minutes. Argh Ninja'd.

    International Pandora Launch Party

Well I work in a hotel in Bedford in the UK. If it's on a day the hotel is quiet and I can clear it with my boss I would probably be able to get everything at a staff discount. No promises though, it would depend on how much of a generous mood my boss is in.

We Are Still Doing The Boards+Population In The Usa, But It Looks Like

Is it wrong of me to think of this IT Crowd episode when reading this thread. :) 4OD link to entire episode. (Probably UK only).

    Dec Update

I would be really cool if the case was made out of a carbon fibre/plastic composite. Not practical as it's not exactly cheap to make. Although I suppose I could try to fake it myself.

    Uk Vat Drop

As any UK residents may know the government is dropping VAT (sales tax) from 17.5% to 15% on the 1st December. I was wondering if it would help Craig and co. out if I reordered after this date? (I got my refund through and I was going to reorder but my bank's online system was offline at the...

    Gp2x-sim: A Samcoupé Emulator For Gp2x V1.0.1

Wow a Sam Coupè emulator. That brings back memories. I still have mine in a box somewhere in the spare room of old stuff with a load of Fred magazine disks. Sam Basic was easy to write programs for and I was the first person to have a cheat for the Sam printed in Crash magazine (for Prince of...

    Gpsp2x Goes Public With V9008!

Can someone confirm FF V (US) crashes at the same point on their system. As in my post before it always crashes at the same point on my system (just as the dragon reaches the bottom of the castle and the screen starts to fade to black). I know it crashes on the introduction but the introduction...

    Gpsp2x Goes Public With V9008!

Amazing emulator. A couple of bug reports to help you make the emulator even better. :) I've been playing the PD rom Chaos (chaos_release_2e.bin), a conversion of the old spectrum game (I used to love that game and I still do). I've noticed that when you run the game in the emulator...

    GP2X Benchmarking Ram Writes

I'm not sure if this is related but I'm pretty sure the Arm Processors have a "Burst Mode" where they write/read 4 sucessive words. This means you don't have to set the RAS/CAS? and speeds up memory access slightly.

Guy Who Wants To Sue Gamepark, Gph, Me & Ed

I just realised another thing in May 2004 this story hit the net. A handheld x86 based games console. Then in December 2004 this guy claims he talked to Gamepark. It look's like Via should be suing him for ripping off their idea and passing it off as his own.

Guy Who Wants To Sue Gamepark, Gph, Me & Ed

I don't know if this guy has built a prototype yet but here's a few helpful tips: 1). Buy a Samsung Q1. 2). Remove Windows XP. 3). Install DSL. 4). Install WINE. 5). Get filled with the warm glow of a job well done. :)

    GP2X Tiny Pong

Yes you are right. My fault for misreading the MP2520F_Manual_Eng_V1.0 docs wrong. I saw the bit about 4 parallel data bus accesses but didn't realise that's 1 for each internal data bus i.e. memory, i/o, fast i/o and internal. So you can only have one device access memory at any one time. It...

    GP2X Tiny Pong

Wow amazing stuff. ARM code is so efficient. The good thing about this is it shows you could write something pretty useful for the second 940 processor and keep it within the magic 4096 byte icache barrier. Just a suggestion but any chance of trying a parallax star field program. In theory if...

Designing The Gp2x's Successor - Hardware Selection Poll

I just had a thought. Would it be possible to design the handheld so you can hot swap the batteries. In other words remove the batteries while the console is still on, have the processor go into a low power standby mode - powered by a lithium coin battery or maybe a chunky capacitor (you'll only...

    Hardware Coding

You might also want to check out Rlyeh's Minimal Library. You might find you are trying to reinvent the wheel. Edit: The link above is a bit out of date. A newer version of the minimal library is in the SquidgeSNES SVN.

Designing The Gp2x's Successor - Hardware Selection Poll

What would be a cool over the top feature, would be a "HDR" LCD display. Instead of having a few super bright white LEDs behind the LCD you have an array of say 80 x 60 LEDs (for a 320 x 240 display). Each LED can have 256 levels of brightness, from off to fully on. You then have a normal RGB...

    GP2X Gp2x Arm Chips - Java Embedded?

The GP2X Wiki has some technical info on the chips used inside the GP2X. Also, I know this is a bit cheeky, but as he seems to be in the trade maybe he can blag access to the MagicEye (the people who make the MMSP2) forum. Linky. It seems to have technical documents for the MMSP2 but it's...

New Drmdx Is Killin My Gp2x

In case you are interested here's the source of the d-cache clearing routine I posted above. I got it from the Google cache, as the original page isn't there anymore, so I've mirrored it. I contains a few hopefully useful cache manipulation routines.
