It looks like the overheating issue. Try puting it in the fridge for 10 min before boot. Also, there is no need to pull the battery - just hold the power button until it switches off.
There is a custom u-boot version made by @aTc, which helps to mitigate such behaviour. If we confirm that your...
Matzesu gave a good advice. I would also suggest to cool Pyra in the fridge for 10-15 mins, then try to charge it through different ports. There are some deviations in mother- and cpu boards which are not properly addressed by the current software (it is quite rare and my Pyra is subject to this...
Will not work, I believe. In my opinion ED spends most of time twicking the cases to fit properly. An inexperienced person most likely will destroy it and get very upset.
I am just a hobby electronics level guy, who knows on which end my soldering iron is hot. On my job I am dealing with gas turbine engines where blades work at the temperatures higher then melting point of metals from which the blades are produced, so every degree of intake air does affect their...
I agree, but do not believe it is highly probable that a temperature shift of around 40 degrees C could cause enough copper expansion to change the traces characteristics. Thermal resistance shift should be even more negligible.
ED mentioned that he has some CPU boards showing similar boot...
Congrats - we were right.
I´ve finally done the fridge test. After being left if the fridge to cool down to 6 C Pyra was able to perform OFF - ON - OFF cycle for 6 times in a row, while even 2 such cycles are not possible at a room temperature. After that it was failing too boot and cooldown...
Step by step: 1) Playing some GBA, surfing boards etc; 2) Turn it off in a normal way; 3) Push the on button - keyboard blink, green logo on, nothing happens; 4) 10 seconds power button hold or battery pull to power it off (green logo goes off); 5) Repeat steps 3 and 4 dozen of times with no...
That all sounds pretty logic, but I still do not get one thing - why a 20 min rest in off state allows it boot? And why is it guaranteed not to boot immediately after it was switched off or removed from long charging cycle (in both cases device is warm)? This pattern is too evident to ignore.
I have the same opinion basing on my observations. I thought motherboard replacement would solve this. Nevertheless, it didn't. I was also surprised by the information from ED that it is most likely software related.
Hey guys! Did you miss me? I finally have an update on my Pyra, which didn't want to charge likely due to hardware issues.
It was tough process due to COVID limitations and delivery to Mother Russia particularities, but Michael yet again proved to be a great guy - he solved everything despite...
The reason is how vouchers are indicated in DragonBox shop invoices - they are indicated as discounts. Customs value is the total in this invoice. In my case it is 270 euro.
Well, we are talking trans border TAXes, which are weird by nature. Secondly, I am sharing my experience with Russian customs.
Definitely if the price was reduced to 0 by vouchers and discounts this would have triggered the customs officers, but a 50% discount is nothing extraordinarily. Once...
Well, on the one hand you are completely right. On the other hand there are quite some unexpected issues, objectively slowing everything down. Major of these are: corona stuff and bad cases. Every Pyra owner who opened his unit will confirm, that there is a lot of manual dremel tinkering done on...
