    The Recall Announcement From Gph

No. But no problem, it's getting solved with the next firmware update :P  <_< Seriously. I've been very tolerant to any early-adopters problems, but the flickering screen, the screen shadows I saw last time on ancient passive notebook LCDs, the inability to upgrade the firmware...

Stereo Borked. Channels Switched, Speakers Mono.

Oh well, get it now. It's not like they changed anything on the GP32 and its switched speaker channels, did they? At least that one was easily fixed. Just a bit of soldering and the channels were fine. But mono speakers?

Stereo Borked. Channels Switched, Speakers Mono.

(x-posted to GPH's suggestion board) Now this is ridiculous. I was irritated by the distinctive non-stereo sound of the built-in speakers, so I made a test-MP3 that plays a test signal on L-R-L-R-L to check the stereo separation. There is none. The speakers are mono. Both get the same...

And since you should reflash to MultiFW anyway, even that doesn't matter. Go grab it!

    What IS Atari 800?

No chance here. I was raised on a C128 (read: C64), and was regularly bashing my 600 XL owning friend. Then some burglars stole my (at that time defunct, bad luck guys :P ) C128 and I was stuck with no computer till I got enough money to get an Amiga as more than worthy substitute. So in a weird...

Pinball Fantasies releas in Q3 2003

Bring it on! I really loved Partyland, and as long as we get the extra paddle in the middle of the table and the great original music, I'm sold B)

    GBA emu from yoyofr

I'd rather want to actually try the bloody thing. What's with this stupid ACE format? All Unix-style unace-progs simply can't deal with this archive. Why not use zip, everyone can extract those archives. And don't start with better compression ratio, I don't give a dung, this is a 200KB...

    Apple Macs

Ok, I just took some time (not that there wasn't any serious work to do. ahem) and de- and re-installed everything, and now it works. I even moved it to /usr/local (with a link in /usr/share) so that I don't delete it if I reinstall the system someday. Your sprite example code compiled just...

    GP32 Controler stick.....

Huh? The GP32 "stick-pad" was the most pleasant surprise when I unpacked the thing. Just wonderful. You guys apparently never had a real digital joystick with proper microswitches. I never understood what's so great about these crappy joypads, except the price (= great for the...

    Broken SMC:((

Wait a sec, what's actually the problem? What part of the system is complaining? Since you apparently could load Frodo, the SMC is at least somehow working. That doesn't sound like the totally-dead-SMC problem I was aiming at...

    This Sound Problem

If you're right then maybe I wasn't that far off when I thought it might be due to some parts differences (the headphone socket having different pinouts depending on part/model/manufacturer). At least that would explain why nobody noticed it during development. And it would explain why yours is...

    Apple Macs

I remember moving it where you put it as well and adding a link, if it would have worked then, I would have kept it like that, so that doesn't seem to be what went wrong. More later ;)

    BROKEN GP32!?

It does, but apparently it crashes with the first access to the SMC, so it dies while trying, not having a chance to go on and ignoring the missing file.

    This Sound Problem

It should be right with headphones. Turn them around by exactly 180 degrees. That should help... :D The built-in speakers are reversed by all GPs except mine :P (patched them internally)

    my gp32 exploded

Whoa, calm down, people... General procedure for using the PCLink-SW: Switch on GP Connect the GP and the PC Wait a sec to let the PC see the GP Go into PC(Link) mode on the GP Start PCLink Do whatever... Close PCLink If something goes wrong (timeout, no GP errors), disconnect the GP and end...

    Apple Macs

Maybe, since I copied it to /usr/local/gp32, where I thought it felt better, and, well, I'm getting tons of missing include files errors etc. Yes, I changed all paths, no, I can't tell you exactly what went wrong, till I'm too busy to play with GP stuff right now. As soon as I have some spare...

    Big fat evil PC-Link prob.

The Windows SW is nerve-wrecking, so just do yourself a favor and buy one of the cheap card readers popping up everywhere as soon as you can, just for peace of mind. It's a lot faster and more reliable. Talking about reliable, I tried two hama 6-in-1 Pocket Readers (hama is a big distributor...
