Do you know if they'll be using the same plastics and keyboard, or will they be updated too?

    $35 Computer? Do Want!

Funny you should mention that: I happened to walk past a rack of $15 cellphones in Tesco's today (British supermarket chain). Though hardly stylish they were quite small + slim, unlocked (there was a splash on the stand saying you needed to add your own SIM), and that price includes 17.5% VAT...

    New Beagleboard-Xm

Indeed. I've had my eye on the IGEPv2 for a couple of weeks, too: http://www.igep-platform.com/ It's about the same price as the BeagleBoard xM (though being made within the EU I wouldn't be risking getting hit up for import duty plus "administration fees"). The downside is that it runs at...

    New Beagleboard-Xm

I'm really quite excited by this! I've had my eye on the original BeagleBoard since it came out, but the Xm has enough resources (especially memory and ports) that you could do quite a lot with it in terms of replacing low-end PCs in a variety of jobs. And it's fanless! Lately I've been...

Ipad: What Do People Here Think Of It?

Speculation that the A4 chip in the iPad might not actually contain an ARM core: http://www.technomic..._Week_11_p.html Interesting if true...

    Owww...

Yeah, one-handed typing isn't all it's cracked up to be, is it? ;) Anyway, I hope your recovery is swift.

    Ben Nanonote Now On Sale

I really want to like this device, but it's difficult not to compare it to the Zipit Z2 which does the same thing much better for less money. And has wifi.

What Would You Want From A $50 Handheld Console?

Thanks, trooper. I'd be interested to know how you get on.

What Would You Want From A $50 Handheld Console?

Anybody know where I can get a Zipit Z2 from in the UK? I wouldn't mind having a bit of a code for it.

Cherrypal As A Cheaper "desktop Openpandora" Replacement

Hmmm, the Cherrypal's PowerPC-based... I do miss my PowerPC coding. So many gizmos, so little (free) time... :D

    Fake Gba On Dx

Very good review, gib! I have to say that that looks like a pretty good deal for ~35 quid. They'd be good Xmas pressies for nephews and nieces.

    Jaguar Emulator?

T2K (the emulator) has emulated all of the Jag's cores from the very start - though to start with the emulation was only good enough to run Tempest 2000 and the VLM. As time has passed the accuracy of the emulation has improved, but it still isn't perfect (there's still a fair bit about the...

    Jaguar Emulator?

Tempest 2000 uses all of the Jag's cores, yes. One of the strange/interesting things about the Jaguar is that it doesn't have a frame buffer. Instead it has the Object Processor, which processes a sort of scene graph containing all of the things on screen to produce each scanline of the display...

You know... your avatar looks strangely familar. :D

    Jaguar Emulator?

It should be pretty straightforward to port the GP2X version to the Wiz - but not without the real hardware. The GP2X port relies on accessing the hardware directly to get a lot of its speed. I'd need a real Wiz in order to experiment and find how close to Wiz's hardware I can get the T2K code...

    Jaguar Emulator?

Hello! ^_^ I don't have a Wiz yet, I afraid. I may get one at some point, but it probably won't be this year now. iprice is correct - I have been developing a Zarch/Zeewolf-like game engine for handhelds. It's optimised for 32-bit integer-only RISC processors, and needs the bare minimum of...

    Sharp Pc-Z1 Netwalker

I'm rather impressed with that! Love the instant restart from suspend, and the optical trackball thingy looks very good. Slightly surprised by the wibbly-wobbly key mechanisms though - I'd expect some much more Psion-like from a Japanese company.

Why Does Development Appear So Limited?

I ported T2K about a month ago, but it doesn't work yet. I haven't had time to debug it yet.
