Oh. In that case, I do agree. Wage theft/stagnation is indeed a very real and terrible problem.

How About Them Games on Pandora?

... If y'all are putting in extra effort advertising these games to me just to make me jealous...it's working.

There's More Distros in the Sea...

Hmm. I'll put that to the test while I'm learning about the Linux command line. Also, people seem reluctant to put their stuff in the Software Center, so I'm usually forced to go through the command line anyway. No complaints about that anymore though; I'm gonna learn. Wow! Thank you for that...

There's More Distros in the Sea...

Ah, pardon the generalization then. I probably should've said "end-users today" instead of using all-encompassing language.  Personally, I've only used computers when Windows was a thing, and that was only for school. Nowadays, I don't even watch TV anymore.

I can actually compare using the command line vs. the mouse in Linux right now with installing something as an example. This is assuming that the files aren't in nice, little binary packages. GUI (the way just about every end-user uses their computer) : -Download something using either a...

There's More Distros in the Sea...

Lol not bad! I actually don't use Google outside of Google Maps; I use IxQuick. Speaking of which, now I know why it wasn't the 1st result. I looked up 'how to install QTSixA' instead of just typing it in, and that YouTube video popped up early. You're right. It is useless unless you're...

    Taxes and political economy

I don't think that's as much of a problem as it is the nature of a free market. No one's guaranteed to succeed anyway, but they can boost their chances. Maybe some of them can get a whole gov't to bail them out, but what are the odds of that? ;)

The What Music Are You Listening To Thread

Not one song in specific, but rather a collection of them. Kid Cudi and various Stones Throw artists (Homeboy Sandman, Jonwayne) have invaded my library won't leave. I really like this Sandman track though: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rf8QxMpKAM4

iCP2: They're throwing in the towel.

Not sure if it's just me, but that's positively oozing of sarcasm. You know what? I'm just gonna opt out of any further discussion of this dude. This Craig shit's petty.

There's More Distros in the Sea...

I actually got those commands from a random YouTube video when I tried searching for installation instructions. I didn't find the official site. They worked though, so I'll get over it.

iCP2: They're throwing in the towel.

You think I don't know that what I say on the issue doesn't matter? Even if I knew ever single little nuance of the situation, my opinion wouldn't carry more or less weight. What I say doesn't mean anything not because I'm new or because I don't know, but because it doesn't matter nor would it...

QTSixA, and just getting it was an experience. Here I am under the impression that I can just sudo apt-get anything I want, but not this time. I had to search for instructions on how to actually install this thing just to find the proper commands.

iCP2: They're throwing in the towel.

*patiently waits for example of me passing judgement* Also, that's some strong language at the beginning of the post. "...can't stomach..." I said "not wallow," not "can't deal with" or any of the sort.

Advantages the Open Pandora has over the Pyra?

Don't get it twisted. I'm not defending him. I'm trying to see if the negativity (and perhaps disgust) is with credence or not and to see why this one dude is a subject to vitriol on a personal level. From what I've seen, his actions are absolutely deserving of said vitriol, and that's...

I read at least the first six. I tend to not wallow in travesty.

There's More Distros in the Sea...

Okay, guys, gals, and developer robots alike. Here's something I'd like to address. Y'know about the method of download for Linux that involves the command line? That within itself is not an issue, but the commands have to be some of the most damnest things ever. I'm fine with going through...

Advantages the Open Pandora has over the Pyra?

And those answers sometimes spawn more questions and the entire trivia ends up becoming a discussion. Which you weren't too keen on having, even though that non-intention was unclear at first. Yeah, and I somehow highly doubt anyone but his ex-colleagues know him on a personal level. Then...

Advantages the Open Pandora has over the Pyra?

Maybe you shouldn't have started our exchange with: because starting a discussion of this topic is what you *almost* did. Continue. And since no one knows what he did with the money, why dwell on it and draw conclusions like, "He fleeced us!!!" Even when other people's money's involved...

Can the Pyra Become a Media Center?

Goddamnit, y'all spoiled the fun with nifty gadgetry. Maybe I should've been more facetious... Actually, no. With the given knowledge, my attempt was satisfactory. How the hell was I supposed to know that you could use a Pandora for a 3D printer? With such a long battery life, it would be of...
