I had problems successfully upgrading my firmware with the gph firmware release (it just never took, it didn't brick my gp2x). However, I was able to easily and sucessfully upgrade the system using the "unbricking guide: reflashing the file system" file and process...

    Cpu/lcd-tweaker

Well, I checked out some of the startup scripts today using sterm (was looking for the script that mounts the sd, didn't find it). It does a number of things that could be pretty time consuming, including the occasional fsck, and clearing temp files etc. Deleting small files from flash media...

Well, you have some benefits with the async, it's a write behind caching so you may have some immediate speed benefits that may be more noticeable with cards that have slow writes. Anyway, programmers and scripters need to be aware that they need to explicitly sync the filesystem or mount it as...

    Cpu/lcd-tweaker

Check it a couple times giving a minute or two between boot attempts. The long boots are usually related to fsck (log appears in /sd), but I have also had at least one occasion where the system boots to confetti and sits there. I had much fear when it failed on a reboot as well. Gave it a...

    Sms Plus 2x Updated

Absolutely. I'm getting a good 2-3 hours with Energizer 2500mha NiMH rechargeables on the GP2X. I suppose I could dig up my GG and see how it would work out now. I must have it somewhere... And then there was the battery time on the Express...all the handhelds in that day were real juice...

    Nk Emus Update 12.03.2005

Anyone who is having problems getting the emulator to work: This emulator DOES NOT play NEO GEO CART or MVS CART game roms. It DOES NOT. You need NEO GEO CD roms to make it work. Thank you.

    Nk Emus Update 12.03.2005

IMHO, it's just about right on. I played a lot of the Saturn version which was slightly better, but the NG version was laggy as hell. Maybe something can be done to improve that in the emulator, but I don't think it's going to get much better.

    Nk Emus Update 12.03.2005

It uses whatever skin is in the skin0 folder, which is probably a SNES skin. Shouldn't make a difference what skin it is. Delete any config or cfg files to make sure you don't have an entry that is confusing the emu (it will create new ones with defaults). Check your system rom MD5SUMS (these...

    Nk Emus Update 12.03.2005

Did you install the system roms? That's important. You also may want to install the Emus in separate folders, some people have previously noted that that helps.

    Nk Emus Update 12.03.2005

May need system roms if NGCD. May need skins for newer versions of the emulators (shouldn't get a black screen, should display an image if the skins are installed), may need the SDL_mixer and SDL_ttf, et al libraries installed with the library update. (If mahjongX etc work, then you should...

    Nk Emus Update 12.03.2005

I thought that was the case (heard it some time ago), but I couldn't find a source confirming it when I did a quick search.

    Nk Emus Update 12.03.2005

Pulstar on the NG is also full speed and playable now. If you like R-Type, it's a direct lift. Do check it out.

    New Release For Nk Emus

    1. Ensure that you aren't using a MVS or NeoGeo cart ROM. 2. I've just been using straight folders of files off of the ISO, whether the ZIP file support works or not, I can't say. I don't think there is that much need for ZIP in this case, because the files on the CD are generally pretty well...

    New Release For Nk Emus

Hm, interesting. May need to go back and verify that I used rendering mode A (new) on games that still display bugs. Not tonight though. G/N all. The music thing would be neat to try out too.

    New Release For Nk Emus

This version seems to rather require a skin for the listing page. I've quickly assembled one here: http://www7.rapidupload.com/file.php?filepath=3040 Overall compatibility appears to be much improved again. All the games that had layer jump problems seem to be corrected now except for one...

    Gp2x Linux Source Release

Apparently, MDI is some kind of proprietary TIFF variant. You should be able to configure Office 2003 to output regular tiff. If you did that, I could easily convert to PDF (though in that case, everyone would be able to read it already :D)

    New Release For Nk Emus

At least in the linked version it hasn't changed (readme_kor.txt is the 2005.11.27 version). It's definitely a new executable though (ran MD5SUM on it). Might want to hunt around and see if there is a version with the updated readme.
