The Rise of Pyra - A story about the past 6 months

Is there a Pyra discord? What's the server name?

Pyra Status? Pyra lite? Upgraded SOC?

I guess this changed over the time. Because Pyra was made with gaming in mind, as it was Pandora, which was born as a gp2x mod or unofficial successor. Just look at all the ED's posts trying to get the best shoulder triggers, face buttons, dpad and analogs. If the project keeps evolving I...

Pyra Status? Pyra lite? Upgraded SOC?

I still think the project is appealing to linux enthusiasts and productivity in this form factor. Sadly it has too many flaws in its actual status for a daily use. And I don't have faith of getting most of them fixed. I totally think the design is fine for its niche. If it was only possible to...

I got a bit lost with along the thread. So summarizing which of the listed fixes are already in the bookworm image? Keyboard and exfat are the key items for me. Is the image ready for daily use? What about the test3 image? I'm talking abou this repo by the way...

Maintained list of all remaining issues. Call to help.

Really? Actually I almost use Pyra only to watch series while in bed. It may be a minor thing but I always found Pandora screen more convenient because of this. I'm happy to hear this can be solved via software.

    E-ink Screen

I can relate 100% with this comment. Pandora was my device for everything duiring my career and some years afterwards. I is still think it is the device I enjoyed most in my life. And the only reason I keep coming to this forum is to relive that feeling.

Should I have received my final order eMail already?

I still think Pyra is the kind of device I want. Size, set of features and linux out of the box fits my use case better than anything else. A Pyra with an up-to-date SOC and fixes here and there and it would be my perfect device. In the meantime I'm using my phone with a customized gamepad for...

    Release Titanion

Thank for this and the other ports. I will try to spare some time and try them at some point. Right now I'm busy and not in the mood to tinker with pyra.

    Survey for Pyra owners

Watch series in bed before sleeping. Besides my bed. VLC. x=0,y=0,z=0 I can stay all day listing things here. First fixing critical bugs, like random freezes, noise bug, tv-out, mobile modem. Next getting custom software (like in Pandora), and newer OSs. Finally less critical problems like...

[Solved:] Lower right shoulder button not working

I can tell you that in my case, after a fall, my shoulder button stopped working. After opening the case everything looked alright. The button was still attached and everything. But after pushing it here and there with the multimeter pins I just deattached it from its place. After soldering...

    Release Fallout 1 / 2 Community Edition

I tested in bookworm and it shows same behavior. Process keeps running on background and a pending task when turning off Pyra. Again no feedback even using pnd-run-path.

    Release Fallout 1 / 2 Community Edition

That's my actual scenario. I have got bookworm in the nand but because the keyboard and sound issues I'm using buster from a SD card. The installation is almost as new, just updated packages. Yes, I know, but I get an explicit message when shutting down stating there is a pending task (with a...

    Release Fallout 1 / 2 Community Edition

I tested fallout 1 and I got the same problem I found with openJO. Launching the dbp with dbp-run-path just shows nothing on the console but the process keeps open forever. When I shut down pyra after testing this it stalls for a while because there is a pending task.

Release Raptor: Call of the Shadows

Sorry it was my fault. After you create the pilot and choose difficulty, the next screen is a picture of the hangar. I'm not familiar with the game and it turns out the different options are the places in the hangar you choose with the mouse cursor.

    WipEout Rewrite

Ok so I deleted the save.dat file and tested again. Default configuration works with face buttons. Although in the mapping both joystick and keyboard columns means keyboard. For instance when it says "x" thurst, it means x character in the keyboard. I changed the mapping again and somehow I...
