What are you playing this weekend/these days?

Maybe check out the original Deus Ex. It's more focused on exploration. You're encouraged to pick from a variety of approaches to reach your goals. There's an RPG-like level up system with a few skills to train and special abilities to find along your way. Bloody good music and story, too.

Alright. I just removed this from my Steam ignore-list and added it to my wish-list. When was the last time you had this much influence on a stranger living n miles away?

Right... Alien Isolation would fit that bill. That's one I only watched a let's-play of despite loving the franchise. StP is really something ^^ Stanley is great. They also made this short but great freebie:

Those genre names are brittle crutches. Playing Doom as a little kid sure felt like survival horror to me. While it rings the Resident-Evil-bell in my brain, the term "survival horror" does not chime with me. I expect the more defining noun to come last. So what's a horror game in terms of...

Finished Witcher 3 and all DLC. Blood and Wine is amazing. A grand finale for a great game.

The studios that are big enough to be capable of broad reach coupled with advancements are the ones which have the most to lose, so no significant risks are taken. Can't really blame 'em. Also investors... meh. I was going to go on a tangential rave about DEI. Not today.

    What have you bought recently?

I know I'm annoyed AF when I tour my motorcycle, find a nice spot to hang around for a few minutes and have a smoke, just to see that I'm not alone by all the butts strewn around the place. A portable ash tray is like 5 bucks. Or put the butt back in the box. Or smoke filter-less, whatever. Just...

    What have you bought recently?

Got a Feather Express compatible NRF52840 board to toy around with. It comes with BLE and battery management. Attached a switch, and a battery from a spent vaporizer. It's maddening to know how many perfectly fine rechargeables are thrown into bins with those devices. ... and the switch just...

Had an old lying around and bought a cheap for it. Took me ages, a dumb coincidence and an internet AI to find out that you have to tie the Mute pin to 3.3 V to make the thing go loud. Oh well. Turns out I can just straight up connect the line-out to my and it already sounds good.
