    Plans For Utilizing The Dsp?

Please do read the first part of the thread. DSP/Link (which supports many other platforms other than OMAP3) and the DSP bridge (which was initially targeted at only OMAP3 but will also grow to support OMAP4) are both TI projects. Both of them make the life of coders much, much easier than it...

    Plans For Utilizing The Dsp?

For reference, the Syslink project which will be a unification of dsp/link and dsp-bridge, can be found at https://gforge.ti.com/gf/project/sl_bios_ipc/ (that syslink will be like a union of link and bridge is what my GSoC mentor at TI has told me - I'm not sure if it'll be 100% backwards...

    Plans For Utilizing The Dsp?

The requirements for DSP/Link itself aren't that high, should be about 2MB for the default config. The CMEM module (for contiguous shared memory allocation) usually takes up more space. As an example, the Beagle Angström demo image's memory map (with which the TI Gstreamer plugins work) reserves...

Something Like Directshow For The Pandora?

Hi, TI Gstreamer plugins need DSP/Link to be able to access the DSP (see my thread entitled "Plans for utilizing the DSP?" in this forum) which isn't available for Pandora just yet. It's likely that when the switch to 2.6.35 or some newer kernel version occurs, it'll be quite easy to obtain...

    Plans For Utilizing The Dsp?

Well met! Since it sounds like we'll be moving on to 2.6.35 anyway, back-porting (actually, it should be just compiling DSP/Link for the current Pandora kernel) sounds less logical. Until then...well, I'll make sure I share anything here in case I have time to play around :)

    Plans For Utilizing The Dsp?

I agree that it isn't pleasant having to obtain the DSP-side compiler (the TI CGT6000) by registration from TI, even though it doesn't cost anything. But that's one big assumption to make :) I'd heard of some university researches from Germany who worked on porting GCC to the TMS320...

    Plans For Utilizing The Dsp?

Corrected, thanks! I'd still say 430 MHz isn't all that bad :)

    Plans For Utilizing The Dsp?

*steps out of the shadows* Hi, I had asked about this before in April regarding DSP-accelerated video decoding, did a forum search but couldn't find anything so here it goes. What are Team OpenPandora's plans for DSP utilization on the Pandora? I know there are many more higher priority tasks...

Has Anyone Done Anything On Gemrb?

*worship worship* Now I can be back to my TeamBG days (rings a bell, anyone? ;)) any time, any place once I get my hands on my Pandora. Much, much appreciated!

    Hardware Accelerated Video Decoding

Googling after it brought up qemu-omap3 and the qemu project in maemo. The second one looks better developed, though the project doesn't seem that alive. Regarding DSP utilization for video decoding on OMAP3s, both gst-dsp and TI's work (as per Zotty's post) seem to have come a long way...

    Hardware Accelerated Video Decoding

My motivation for asking the question in the first place is because I want to start participating by actually committing some code :) Something that I just noticed is that BeagleBoard, which was accepted into Google's Summer of Code as a mentoring organization this year, has a related item...

    Hardware Accelerated Video Decoding

Hi all, I was wondering what the current status for hardware-accelerated video is on OMAP3 systems, and more specifically on the Pandora? (or possibly the BeagleBoard) The wiki and progress reports often contain statements like "Movieplayer: Not using hardware acceleration yet" and similar. I...

    Made In China!

Fantastic! Thanks for the status update, the tension was getting rather unbearable. So, have these been given the green light to be delivered by the courier? Will the assembly be able to start on 1st April as planned? :) (and, erm, "kolay gelsin" :))

Pangea - Alternative Gui To Gmenu

I really ike the interface and think that it has great potential to be both great-looking and useful, although I'm not sure how useful the grab-and-drag method used to scroll the menu down would be on the Pandora. I assume it will be mapped to one of the key, or the direction pad perhaps?

Dugg. Though I do fear the consequences a trifle :)

Future Pandora's Owners : Where Do You Live ?

Turkey (Ankara) over here. It suprises me to be the first on the vote, we have the kind of community here (or so I believe) which would take great interest in the Pandora.

    Some More Renderings

Very mouth-watering ED. Thanks for all your efforts - even though it's the same render just from different angles, for me each one of the pictures is like seeing a glimpse of heaven :D

A Simple Idea For Case Colors...

Spray painting a black case to white isn't quite the same as having a factory-made white case with a glossy finish. I don't think that it is essential, but it would be kind of nice to have this as an option, perhaps not for the first release, but later on.

    Don't Panic

Absolutely ridiculous, eh? Shame on some people for not having read Douglas Adams' Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. See here fore more information. Seeing that Pandora is a hyper-geeky device as it is, I can't think of a better place for "Don't Panic" to be on. Maybe it would look a bit too...
