Sorry no German dictionary that I know of, but it already supports any Rewordlist generated file format (like the French one mentioned) and simply needs the file placed in the /sdcard/appdata/reword.purplepup/data/pandora/words directory to be included in the options screen. I just tried it...
I've updated the repo and the OP link about my latest update (0.6.2) which fixes a few little things, adds a big new common dictionary with a combination of UK/US spelling and plurals etc, and the original 6 letter Reword dictionary, and generally tidies up some stuff.
Hope this helps the...
Yes, I looked into it last night and started building a reword dictionary from a OED wordlist and used the xdxf dictionaries just to poulate the definitions. So far so good but need to feed more xdxf files through it to populate all the definitions.
Ok, that is sad to hear. :(
re: 'rains' I think it fairly consistently excludes plurals so 'rain' would be there but not 'rains'. If anyone knows another good/full free dictionary file I can use (and can be easily parsed), please let me know ASAP.
Maybe as an interim measure, I can include...
Yeah, sorry about that. When the game went up to 8 letters from 6, I couldn't afford the time to edit the dictionary manually again, so I just dumped the xdxf oxford english (and US) dictionaries into it. I may be able to remove some words if the description denotes it's a acronyn etc. Or we...
Yes, but as the PXML didn't previously have a package tag, and I assumed I shouldn't have the same package name as the app name, I added 'package.' to the front of the appid and used that as the package name. If it's ok to duplicate then I may update it (but lose any new comments and votes etc -...
Ok, after an all day hacking session, I've updated Reword to v0.6.1 with the following changes:
- Added A-Z keyboard support so player can type words if they want (Pandora controls still work too)
- Touch offset being thrown off should now be fixed (thanks onpon4 & mcobit)
- Changed letter...
Yea, I see your (fairly strongly made) point about the letter selection for initials. It took me a while to get that working and in doing so failed to re-implement showing the previous initials as it used to. I'll put that back in. The initials selection is touch enabled, like everything else...
Do you mean the black letters on the purple roundels or the colour scheme in general?
I'm not much good with colour schemes really and even this took ages before I was comfortable with it.
I had thought the letters could be a bit brighter too, so back to Inkscape it is then... :)
Anyway...
I've updated my word-find letter-unjumbling game Reword to version 0.6.2
Improvements:
- Added eng_common_all (bigger more generic) and eng_small_6_letter (original reword) dictionaries
- Added (Y) button in menus for [back]
- In-game keyboard feedback on screen
- On screen help...
I'm on HF4. But just had a few more games of Pacman and no problems... other than getting caught a lot!
Ok, tried the word fall again and works fine if I just use touch.
Tetris is still extremely slow, even changing options, especially when the two AI players have lots of lines building up...
Pacman crashed the whole machine for me, after I eat a pill and three ghosts, then I had to reset the Pandora.
The falling words game may have crashed or just not responded to input, either way had to kill it.
The tetris game worked but as said was slow - Were the speedup options in-code or in-game?
ok, just tried a quick game or two.
It's come on a fair bit since I last played it. Very nice too.
A few thoughts:
1. the main menu up/down sounds seem to play a while before the menu option moves.
2. the player selection screen doesn't allow d-pad/A button selection, so I had to use touch...
For the date issue, just use the date command in a terminal:
e.g.
sudo date --set=20:32:00
It doesn't update immediately, but a restart or switching GUI afterwards certainly works.
I've just uploaded my Reword puzzle (word finder) game to the file archive.
Can't upload to the App store yet as I've not been given rights, but that should be soon I hope.
It's almost a straight port of the GP2X version, but with working touchscreen and the menu music is back.
Looks nice on...
Ok, I've fixed it with a bodge for now, by just saving the score file to the root of my working (appdata/reword.purplepup) directory.
Not how I want to do it, but unless someone can come up with a sure fire way of creating these directories, I'll have to do that for now.
Hoping someone has...
Hmmm, this is annoying. Even if I try to create a file or directory that does not exist in the pnd file, it still doesn't create it (and obviously the scorefile doesn't then get copied or updated).
This is the output in /tmp/pndrunreword.purplepup.out I don't know if it tells anybody anything...
Ah, I see.
So if I keep the current pnd structure and create a scores/ directory and put the hiscore.dat in there it should work.
Cool, thanks for explaining that.
If I need more directory messing in the future, I'll maybe use your 'find' approach or something like it.
Thanks again
