Aaaaand another update, the last one for now. I am out of this discussion.
This brings two new arguments:
Offset - Adjust where the wheel starts, this defaults to 19 so that 10 is read as 1% instead 0%. Effectively this option also allows to reverse the wheel if you let it start at -2041. That...
Booth of my pandoras have awful crackles tho....
The approach is still great, despite that.
I wasnt thinking you implied anything.
Merely wanted to note: Its all a matter of usecase. And if it is the case that you dont want to use the wheel at all, we can simply do not use it right now. Which...
Huh, good idea, i ran a quick test:
457000 471000 >no polling
470000 484000 >0.1s
522000 541000 >0.01s
This is the output of the battery current file, with the MIN/MAX value. There seems to be a trend:
The current always on polling script accounts for 2% of the total power usage.
But take it...
Are you volunteering to fix the kernel read?
Anyhow, regardless of how the code looks, even if someone manages to trim down the current kernel read to not cause that much cpu load, polling the wheel will always cause the most power usage in this process.
If we want to save power then turning...
Ah i finally got this, so lets say you decide for a slow 4s poll, then accidentally slip and set it to high, it will fry your ears for the next 4 seconds.
You got a point there... Just a line more to add.
Following flags and this help page exist now:
Speed Delay between polling wheel in μs
Advised value: 100000 (0.1s)
Default value: 100000
Range Expected Maximal wheel value, default: 2000
Higher values limit the volume, lower allow an overdrive...
Thanks for testing.
No, that would be quite the annoying unexpected behaviour. First, with only one tool running the other value would never be changed anyway, second, some ppl like to set it to eg 90% to reduce noise on some channels, they sure dont want this to be overruled.
Just dont look...
Das is aber für die pyra...
Ich benutz meine pandora im moment noch für 3 sachen:
für meine inspektionscamera ->camcoder.pnd
Zum lesen ->buch.pnd
um meine Kameras zu justieren -> Stopuhr.pnd
*hust* kaum eingenwerbung oder so.
Gute spiele die mir spoantan einfallen...
I am going to ad the argument "Timeout" which defines when the polling should be reduced or shut down after a stream started.
So when you start watching a movie you have like 20 seconds to adjust the volume on fast poll and then it polls every second or so.
Question is: Should touching the...
See above, but TLDR: The code that generates the /dev/io file is faulty.
It also gives different cpu usage on different wheel positions which hints on a conversion problem.
Inspecting this code may be a bigger task tho.
My bigger concern is: Dont we have more sensors like that? Has the...
This hopefully may work:
It Implements auto shutdown when no sound is played, i do not know how reliable this works yet tho.
Further it takes settings as arguments.
"Speed" is the polling delay in μs, default is 100000 which is 0.1s.
"Range" is the expected max wheel value, default is 2000 which...
