    Gp2x Downunder!!!!

Well there you go, here I am today about to put my money down (was going to order from the UK), and now I see you guys. Where are you based ? I'm in sydney. Checked out your site - don't suppose you have any good deals on 2GB cards - 1GB isn't enough for me.

    Vice2x

Vic-20 on a gp2x ... awesome. Never did complete 'Perils Of Willy', and jetpac ... oh, jetpac. To think of the space that my 6 vics take up stored around the house compared to the gp2x. Anyway, you rule big time. Good onya. Martin

    Just Wondering

Classic. I am 37 on the 21st of this month, and my first machine was also a vic-20. I now have 6 of them (as well as a large collection of other 8 and 16 bit machines). Back in the day, I had: Vic-20 Apple II+ Amiga 500 486 etc, etc Martin

    Bbc Emu!!

Awesome, a beeb emulator. How many hours spent playing BBC Elite, the original and (in my eyes) the best. Can't wait to get my gp2x and have a bash at this. Blimey, the apple II was a classic platform, albeit most of the games you find on it are also available for the C64. One corker for the...

    Just Wondering

Wow, and there was I thinking I had enough trouble dealing with people born in the 80's, but someone born in the 90's, thats scary. You missed a couple of great decades there ... I even saw a few years of the 60's, but a bit too young to get into anything other than baby food and mushed up...

    Impressive Review Units

Live Publishing (that used to put out Retro Gamer) went bust just before issue 19 was to come out. Which is why you haven't seen it for a while. Unfortunately the took everyones money with them, as the ship sank. Imagine Publishing has bought it out now, and have just (today, 08/12/05) put out...

    Retro Gamer Coverage!

Any idea if this includes international subscribers ? Like us in Australia. I have missed retro gamer, glad its back ! And doubly glad the gp2x is going to get some coverage (hopefully +ve). Martin

    Ahhh

Oh right, so it doesn't have to be rechargeables ? Just at a minimum AA batteries capable enough (such as those they recommend for digital cameras, I assume thats whats meant by photo batteries). Thats fair enough then, given what the batteries are powering. Martin

    Ahhh

Just on the battery discussion, and just to put *a* viewpoint across (not necessarily mine, just *a* (heck I don't even have a gp2x yet)). Isn't one of the big plusses of a device taking AA batteries, that you can buy them anywhere in the world ? i.e. you are on hols, you forgot your charger...

    Gp2x Joystick

Was pac-man originally equipped with dedicated 4-way Joysticks ? Wouldn't suprise me. I know that even on my mame cab, I have 4 8-Way sticks (4 player, awesome), playing stuff like PAC-MAN or RallyX is difficult, however. To the point that I am thinking of swapping the sticks out with some 8...

Public Announcement From The Official Web

Not quite sure I get this, is not everything before the official release in January a "Preorder" ? I just ordered from gbax yesterday. I live in Australia. If I end up having to send the unit back, that will be a bummer, although I am sure the guys and gals at gbax are doing everything they can...

Things I Like About My Gp2x...

Indeed ... I hope the 'kids' on here that think "On the first day, god invented the SNES" get around to checking out some of the older classics, for say the C64 and the speccy (possibly even older, some one port VICE (including the vic-20 component) ... else I will have a bash myself). For me...

    Perspective

Ha, microsoft *must* have known about it before release, surely ! Else they did extremely poor testing. There again, arn't the public beta testers for microsoft products anyway ;) Martin

    Which Os Do You Use?

WinXp. Cygwin / MinGW / XFree86 for devving (including my vic-20 mini game entry). Martin

Which Emulator Do You Want To Have?

I am an old school gamer (first computer was a vic-20, first console was a PSX), so keen for any of the following (in order of preference) Amiga 500 48K Speccy Vic-20 Apple II | BBC B | C64 If a playable amiga emu comes out, I will be in heaven. I have no doubts that a C64 and Speccy emu...
