Bizarrely no. I actually though it would be much more too! - saying that, this would have been essentially a prototype - getting to market would have probably added at least another 2 "0's" to the price and therefore, it hasn't happened yet!
:)
OK, you are never going to be able to solder an existing phone board to the pandora board and have a phone-dora - it doesn't work that way...
If you want to know how much it costs to get a one off prototype 3g phone board designed to your specifications (bearing in mind that this will give you...
I'd just like to point out that there are many ARM cortex-8 devices that run windows CE right now. They are all beagleboard style units so I can't imagine that it would be a massive leap to get WinCE running on the Pandora...
Saying that, I think it would be an abomination and this behaviour...
My guess would be frozen cat corpses from China. These will be used to make various curries and pizza toppings to feed all the people who will help build pandoras.
or french ticklers.
thanks for writing E-D - I wasn't pushing you for a reply - I know you've got a pile of things the require your time now
Unfortunately I have to rely on a colleague of mine to bake an image - I'm really more of a soldering type person as opposed to a coding type person - I was more concerned...
Listen, the ubuntu GUI is really finger friendly - it's nice and simple and pleasant to use
- NO it's not great big command line linux, but on a small touch screen it should be a decent UI experience. This alone makes it worth having.

I think the main issue is the OS has to be nice an simple (ie not blatently Linux) so maybe the netbook launcher or even...
well I've already got a beagleboard but I'm using a basic Angstrom image on it (which we keep on breaking while sodding about) - It's pretty cool
- thinking of getting a IGEPv2 Platform, which is a beagle clone with more memory and an ethernet socket + bluetooth and wifi.
So it's not a...
this is exactly what I'd like to do, especially after seeing ED's video yesterday - I have mailed him about it but I think he's a bit busy with real life right now - I imagine there will be an image of the OS somewhere once mass production is going and people are getting devices in their hands...
speedball please!! (although I think it actually came out on the Amiga first)
As a side note, I'm so happy that I'm not the only one that remembers all this stuff and even happier I didn't give in to my urge to cancel a while ago when things were looking grim...

well...
My god, I'd forgotten all about that and the girlfriend - has it really been that long?
Mr Zod, please can we see a few secs of Gran Tourismo just for us old people?
:D
Rick
- Sounds fair enough to me... Although I'm not in the 1st 500 so I'll never see one of these!!
But the whole affair pretty much sums up my experience of trying to get products produced in China.
They just seem to do what ever they want and tell you that it's all ok and you'll be very happy...
