    What Do People Think About Topic Regulation In Forums?

    Honestly, I think that sort of post is as appropriate on this board as teaching Creationism is in schools. And your argument is roughly similar. *shudder*

    Usb 1.1 -> 2.0 Passthrough Device?

    Actually, I'm not surprised that the sellers say mini-B by mistake; they neither make the adapters nor use them, and so they're not likely to bother understanding the difference between the two types (even if it is critical). Or they expect people to make the same mistake and they want to show...

    Usb 1.1 -> 2.0 Passthrough Device?

    Arrggh, the first adapter you posted will definitely work - if you look closely at the mini-usb plug you'll see that it's slightly differently shaped to a mini-b (and has a white plastic insert); it's a mini-A, which will have the id pin grounded. All OTG cables should have one end set as...

    Pandora''s Type Classification

    I always tended to call my two Zaurii 'palmtops'. :)

    Windows 7 For Arm?

    Do you know how long-lived this "ARM era" already is? I was using an ARM-based Archimedes way back in 1991. And I've had two ARM-based Zaurii over the past 5 years. It's far easier for a chip manufacturer to license ARM's designs for a new processor instead of building one from scratch, let...

    Huawei E220 3g Modem

    Officially (and annoyingly) USB1.0/1.1/2.0 doesn't actually denote the hardware support, but the standard which was in place when a device was certified. So everything is now certified as USB2.0 even if an identical device would have been certified as USB1.1 a few years ago before 2.0 arrived...

    Open Red Alert

    Openredalert has significant portability issues in the code - it works fine on X86, but ARM has different data alignment and so ORA fails. I did a bit of work on it last year to get it running on my Zaurus, but I never got around to finishing it.

    Usb Otg Adapters

    Really? I've only seen the third type, and even they were insanely rare until recently (of course, now that they're readily available, the bloody USB standards group deprecates it. F***ers.)

    Huawei E220 3g Modem

    Yes, I'd just make sure the power pin in the OTG plug isn't connected, as linking the power domains of the two USB ports probably isn't a good idea. :o And you'd probably have to hack it up yourself, as I've never seen a cable with a mini-A, full-A and mini-B plug on it before... Beyond that...

    Question About The Battery Of The Pandora

    There's only one cell, it's custom built to fit the Pandora.

    Pandora Portrait Style

    That isn't the issue; it's the viewing angle. If the screen has a narrow viewing angle in one direction, then trying to view the screen with that direction horizontal will cause each eye to see something different. It happens on my Zaurus in landscape mode (the lcd is natively portrait), which...

    I Don''t See Where To Preorder The Pandora?

    Nope (my zaurus, heck, even my old palm pilot could), although it's probably the first *gaming* handheld, and only because it's got a keyboard as standard. :)

    Resistive Touch Screen Game Changer For Panora?

    Yup, it's not a software solution. A standard resistive touchscreen has a single pair of conductive layers that cover the entire screen. This instead has a matrix of thousands of tiny independant touchscreen elements that are scanned individually. That's what gives them the increased accuracy...

    Open Source Gps Software?

    Tomtom runs on ARM linux. It's been successfully run under Angstrom on the Zaurus, but the guy who did the work (well over a year ago) never released it, as he's waiting for Tomtom's blessing first. *sigh*

    Open Source Gps Software?

    Nothing as polished as say Tomtom yet, although work is ongoing. I'm currently fiddling with Navit (using the OpenStreetMap maps) on my Zaurus - I'll definitely be looking into using it on the Pandora.

    Blog Update 2/15/09

    Are they inaccessible? I think they're in a good spot. Either thumb can get to them, so ctrl-a and ctrl-l should be equally easy to hit. Unlike shift-d. *eep*

    World Of Goo Linux Version Available

    You bought the same game twice because you didn't like it the first time? :blink: In any case, just because it wasn't to your taste does not mean we "like it only because it's indie". It's a good game.
