Hi everyone,
Just want to make you know that there is a new non-interactive demo for GP2X by Quebarium.
Be aware that the party version available right now support only TV-Out NTSC (LCD and PAL should follow).
binary: on scene.org
video: on youtube
For demoscener, you can look on pouet and...
In fact, I found out that the 7 pixels at the end is in fact a replica of some pixels on the same line near the center (I use to know the coordinate after I did some test). I fix it increasing the active display area... by increasing DPC_Y_MAX from 239 to 240.
For TV-Output NTSC I leave it to...
Okay, here is the HINT given on Serial Port & more easy in stdout.txt on win32!
GP2X Low-Level Library v1.00 by F-Cycles/Quebarium.

Have you try this tiny demo with TV-Out + CloseCaption1?
You have to set your TV to CC1 (TV can have: Info, CC1 to CC4, TEXT1...
Hi Senor Quack,
In fact, in summer 2006 I got my first GP2X and in dec. 2006 I start working on the low level stuff lonely in the dark (except for some email I exchange with Rleyh regarding his minimal lib) until end of 2007. So, I am using SDL only for audio init. so that mikmod work. For the...
I just try the F100 Open2x DR7 firm. I get 2 bugs running it directly: sprites (RGB layer) doesn't display and my tiny menu (cursor layer) is moving on X-axis in reverse direction. But, if I try to run it in compatible mode.. all bugs disappear.
Farox: have you try running it in compatible mode?
Yes, I think it's probably firmware related. From what understand you got a purple screen on the LCD with a vertical black line. I know I reconfigure video registers even on the LCD... in order to display all pixels, while the default firmware on F100 and F200 has a bug on the last 7 pixels of...
Hello GP2X community,
Here is a new gp2x release (a fast demo made for @party/foulab)
http://www.pouet.net/prod.php?which=56345
In the package there is a win32 and gp2x version.
Don't expect too much out of it... but, I would like people to try on their TV (NTSC and PAL users).
Also, by...
Well, my first idea was to test if something like Ikaruga can be made on it. Of course, there is no 3d background for the moment and has its say it was only a prototype.
The graphics were mostly rip from the web as it was a prototype. I got another demo of that kind of stuff which has own made...
I don't think it's too late for a new release! This racing game will be welcome! :) I am back also on Gp2X since few months... and did post about a game prototype here (http://fcycles.blogspot.com/).
I have complete some research test recently on various TV set. I hope to complete this research...
The RGB layer by default is configure to be in 320x240.. but you can configure it to be in 720x480. Once you modify the scaler registers, you could get the resolution, but there is also other registers to modify in order to expand the visible area. :)
In the screen shot I took, you can see the...
Currently the resolution I have on NTSC is 720x480 (about 5.4 times the number of pixels to process). You can see a screen shot of the emulation of my low-level library running on PC via SDL on my blog (hum.. the FPS drop significantly on PC as I do software transformation for all hw...
Hi everyones,
I've decided to post this video on youtube of a non-interactive demo I've work on in order to validate some concepts.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FQdX5G6XeZ0
Enjoy! :)
The screen resolution is 720x480 (ntsc) - not the default 320x240
I have get rid of SDL on my side and I attack the hardware registers. Yes there is a way to use a scaler where you would have lower resolution than 320x240 (like 160x240, 160x120...). However, this affect the RGB layer only.
I think it may be possible to use it with SDL as you can overwrite the...
My best result so far, it's something which work over 95% of the time. But in some cases when I switch to non-interlaced signal, the TV output signal is still valid (I don't see video 2 on my TV :-P) but the image display is a solid black.
I found tonight how to get rid of an artefact by...
On my side... I guess it's a matter of spare time available, but I would prefer the hardware to stay the same for more years prior to make new devices available to the market.
Hopefully when I will do my first release for something running on GP2X F100 & F200.. people will still have interest...
