    Pandora Price Increase!

Your problem is that you believe what craigix says, which is an obvious mistake. The truth is: a few years ago the Pandora was supposed to be produced in the Texas factory. When they decided to produce by themselves, in order to cut costs, we were told that it would not cause delays. maybe...

    Pandora Price Increase!

The way I see it, he holds my money for two and a half years promising that the device will come really soon, and now when my turn finally comes, he tells me that he prefers to sell the deivce to someone who has not paid yet, so I can wait more. But then, I already know that he is a liar, so I...

When Am I Getting My Pandora?

Considering there are now about 3400 people who would love to see YOU make something like the Pandora, I think your words sound very empty.

When Am I Getting My Pandora?

I thought that the current delays are blamed on an American company. This reminds me that a few a years ago I paid a British company some money for a gadget that was supposed to be shipped within a month, and they did not send to me anything, but only gave me one excuse after another.

    Tethering With N900

N900 does not run GPSD. The gps data is only available in some Nokia specific method. It should not be too hard to write a program that reads the data from the N900's GPS and exports it in gpsd format (or over a serial bluetooth connection, for that matter), but no one did this yet.

Epub Reader - Must Be Possible Surely?

This information is saved in a simple file, so rsync works perfectly, but it needs to be run manually, and you need to close fbreader while syncing (at least on the side with older version of the files). What I do not have is a good algorithm for automating this. Advice is welcome.

    When Does Building/shipping Resume?

And you forgot to say that this list is handwritten on paper. Because if it in any form on a computer it takes a few minutes at most to write a program that finds actual exact place in queue. And I really believe that they do not count exactly how many they made, and exactly how many they shipped.

    When Does Building/shipping Resume?

This might have made some sense if there were not many people who were told their position in line is 3900-4000. This, of course also means that the common belief that those numbers are positions in Craigix' queue is also without merit. The truth is, probably, that those numbers, like any kind...

Wine Running On A N900 (Maybe Pandora Too...)

You are wrong. Why argue when you don't know?

Wine Running On A N900 (Maybe Pandora Too...)

Not exactly. qemu-i386 is not a PC emulator. It is a Linux binary loader + x86 emulator. This means that it emulates x86 for running Linux user space binaries, but when the binary makes a system call, it is executed on the native ARM kernel, and not an x86 emulated kernel. This method also has

What kernel version are we talking about here? What version of OMAP patches? Is the kernel source available somewhere?

100 Hand Painted Special Edition Pandoras

Overclocking is internal to the chip and should not affect and not be affected by what is on the board itself. The setting of voltage (VDD1) is dependent on an external chip, but I would be very surprised if the Pandora does not use TI's (or someone else's) reference design in this regard.

100 Hand Painted Special Edition Pandoras

That's a great way to make sure that there will be no batch 2 and no Pandora 2 (not that I think there is any real chance for either of those).

100 Hand Painted Special Edition Pandoras

It seems that 800MHz at 1.2V has high success rate on the N900. See here: http://talk.maemo.org/showpost.php?p=646072&postcount=101

100 Hand Painted Special Edition Pandoras

So for someone who paid 19 months ago (with a promise of delivery within two months), and still did not get anything, this scheme will reduce the chance to get a processor working at 800 MHz? And I am sure that this scheme will not cause a delay, nothing ever causes a delay. The only way this...

    Power Consumption

I don't mean to offend you, but you don't seem to understand what you read. The OMAP datasheet specifically explains how the software can change the frequency (see section 4.7.6 in the file called spuf98e.pdf). It never says that the CPU changes the clock by itself. If you think it does, please...

    Power Consumption

There is not such thing "CPU scaling is entirely automatic within the CPU itself". At most the CPU can turn the clock off when idle. But when the kernel sets the clock to 600MHz, this is the only clock the CPU runs in. Not any lower clock. I don't know where you got your misinformation, but it...

    Power Consumption

No. The kernel manages frequency and voltage together, changing one with the other.

    Shipping On The 4Th?

You should remember that you only read one side of the story. I am sure the factory has a different story, where all the fault lies with OPT. And anyway, the boards are not ready yet and the construction process is only a speculation, so even if the cases miraculously materialised right now, we...

    Shipping On The 4Th?

You hold people's money for over 18 months with one false promise after another. You are in a very bad position to criticize business practices of others.
