    It's software this time!

yes echo 2000000 >/sys/class/power_supply/bq24297/input_current_limit does the trick on the pyra side.

Yes, such fora have too many messages to follow and remember all of them... Here is the pointer: I mentioned it here ca. 2 pages ago https://pyra-handheld.com/boards/threads/its-software-this-time.99105/page-10#post-1675571 It is the small image at the end of the post.

    It's software this time!

You mean a mechanical construction like for the Pandora Console adapter? One issue to take care of is that you can still open the lid. This limits the max. dimensions of the PCB which must accomodate tree connectors and the amplifier chip. And I have not found an USB3 plug (the one going into...

    It's software this time!

Yes, USB provides 5V output. Hard disks with SATA usually need 12V. For testing I have used an external HD-Dock (I think from Logitech) where I can simply insert a hard drive into the slot. But that device has its own power supply. So SATA is more for a "dock" situation and less on the road. But...

    It's software this time!

In addition, I wonder how many SATA adapters will be needed. These adapters will allow to connect one SATA device and one USB2 device (or provide power) to the blue USB host port socket (not the OTG-USB3). Note that this is not a general SATA adapter for any USB port. It only works on the OMAP5...

Information about OS / Kernel / Prototypes

Well, LetuxOS and PyraOS are two different OS distributions but sharing a lot behind the screen. They share the code base for boot loader and kernel (although there may be different configs and additional patches). They also share standard Debian (but different releases). They mainly differ in...

Information about OS / Kernel / Prototypes

Directly booting from USB or SATA is theoretically possible, but AFAIK nobody has tried. And at least for the USB2 host ports there is no driver in U-Boot (would have to enable power and implement the HSIC hub protocol). The OTG-USB3 port may potentially work (but U-Boot also has no code for...

Are you interested in a new Pandora LCD cable?

Yes, that is my idea to have at least a good one since we can't get the best one.

Are you interested in a new Pandora LCD cable?

No. I have no information how to make this and where to get it from and how to test if it is worth to be applied. But when being able to make these cables in small quantities it may be easier and cheaper to replace one again after let's say 3 years than trying to add coating and have 6 years.

Are you interested in a new Pandora LCD cable?

They look quite similar to https://pyra-handheld.com/boards/threads/are-you-interested-in-a-new-pandora-lcd-cable.98970/post-1668847 and are based on the Gerber files "Rev 5".

Are you interested in a new Pandora LCD cable?

Good news: I found time to look into improving the production process for the cable samples and it is almost ok now: These cables will go for testing now :) If they work inside a Pandora and do not break within some days, the project is ready to order the flex PCBs for the cables and then...

Are you interested in a new Pandora LCD cable?

I finally found time to setup my pick&place machine (which needed some tweaks because the PCB data and placement plan is for a bottom side coordinate system and needs to be mirrored). But then I was able to add the capacitors to 3 of the 5 cables we have had produced. This worked fine and...

Are you interested in a new Pandora LCD cable?

Well, I have no problem seeing them in Safari. But Firefox fails. So here they are uploaded again: 1586239224 I did go to "Edit" both versions and switched to BB mode. The first one: the second one which works in firefox:

Are you interested in a new Pandora LCD cable?

Ok, LCD cable samples have arrived! They look quite good, except that the stiffner at the display end seems to be a little thinner than ordered, but that is not a deal breaker for evaluating the prototypes. I am still waiting for some components (capacitors, diode, connector for the panel) and...

Pyra news partially stale from the dragon's mouth

I just managed to get the DDK 1.17 running on OMAP5 showing kmscube: Note: this demo needs Debian Bullseye and "apt-get install letux-pvrsgx-1.17 kmscube".

Pyra news partially stale from the dragon's mouth

This is not any more a Dev Protoype, but one of the first fully assembled pre-mass-production run units built some weeks and days ago. So it includes all improvments done in the months before (most of them were mechanical so I didn't have a need to see them :). It just turned out that the boot...
