Aquaria, Rpg Maker Or Other Windows Applications

There is a work in progress GPL'ed project called "Easy RPG" that can be very interesting for you. It will be a RPG creator (and interpreter) compatible with "RPG Maker 2000 / 2003" and it will work in Windows, Linux and MacOS, so it would run on Pandora. http://easyrpg.sourceforge.net/ The...

A Short List Of Simple Questions

For question 3: WINE is for x86 architecture only, but it might be possible run win32 binaries using QEmu + WINE: http://fabrice.bellard.free.fr/qemu/qemu-doc.html#SEC1 Using QEmu in user mode you should be able to run an x86 linux distro (with WINE) in Pandora, so you could run WINE in ARM...

    Python And Pygame

Is anybody thinking about porting wxPython (the Python's port of wxWidget)? I'm programming a PC application which uses Python + wxPython and would be great if it would also work in Pandora (with a few changes).

Pandora Torque Game Engine On Pandora

Me too, but the last reply I got from one of the OGRE developers was that he would make the OpenGL ES 2.0 port when he gets a OpenGL ES 2.0 hardware accelerated portable device. Maybe if many people ask for that port in their forums...

    How About A Competition?

    I Agree.

    Unity Game Engine

I didn't know Pandora will be OpenGL ES 1.1 compatible. In that case, we might use the PocketPC version as a base to make a port, but there would be another problem: that version was built thinking in machines without FPU or graphic hardware acceleration, so it uses fixed point Maths.

Horde3d Shader Based Engine Opengl Es 2.0 Port

Hey, I've seen you in Ogre3D forums asking for a Ogre3D OpenGL Es 2.0 port (like you, I was very interested in that port, my nickname in that forum was "wormsxp"). As a Ogre3D port is unlikely to be done by the Official Ogre3D Team in the near future and I haven't enough experience with OpenGL /...

    Unity Game Engine

As far as I know, there is a OpenGL ES 1.0/1.1 Ogre3D port but there isn't any plan to make an OpenGL ES 2.0 port (which will be used by Pandora) in the near future. OpenGL ES 1.0 and 2.0 are incompatible, so we wouldn't be able to use it.

    Car + Computer = Carputer. Car + Pandora = Car-dora?

I've been thinking for several months about turning my car into a carputer: a car with a low-powered PC with touch-screen which is used as a media center, GPS, video-game console (just in case you are waiting somebody and he/she comes late) and other useful tasks...

    3d Engines ?

From the official page: http://psyco.sourceforge.net/introduction.html QUOTE Drawbacks Psyco currently uses a lot of memory. It only runs on Intel 386-compatible processors (under any OS) right now. There are some subtle semantic differences (i.e. bugs) with the way Python works; they should...

    Broadband On The Go...

If you have a Symbian mobile with wifi, you can download a program (called joikuspot) that makes your mobile act as a wireless router. I've tried this with a Nokia E65 and my laptop and I can browse web without any problem. Other protocols are not supported yet...

    3d Engines ?

I haven't looked at PySoy / Soya3D 's dependencies; but if somebody makes a Ogre3D port (something very doable), a PyOgre port shouldn't be too dificult. I love Python, but remember that if you use PyOgre instead of Ogre3D you'll have to spend about 40 MB of RAM in Python interpreter. Those MB...

Games With Vertical Screen And Pandora: Pacman, 1942...

Yes, I've seen this control scheme in some Nintendo DS games and it works very well (for that games), but if there is any game for Pandora which uses that controls, it should take into account left-handed people and let the player use the buttons (A, B, X, Y) as directions.

Games With Vertical Screen And Pandora: Pacman, 1942...

I think using the keyboard as buttons would be OK for vertical screen games, but developers who makes this kind of games should make them in such way that the player could choose between 3 different control schemes: 1) Horizontal screen mode (when possible) where you use the gamepad or left...

    3d Engines ?

I don't have a PocketPC, so I can't try any demo or game for that plataform. However, I guess they would look much worse than the PC version because of the fixed point maths. Since we will have graphic hardware acceleration and floating point maths, we shouldn't have those problems.

    3d Engines ?

There is already an PocketPC port which uses OpenGL ES 1.0 (without hardware acceleration) and fixed point math. Unfortunately, OpenGL ES 1.0 is incompatible with OpenGL ES 2.0

    3d Engines ?

I've received this answer from one of the Ogre Team Member: http://www.ogre3d.org/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?p=276541 QUOTE @WORMSXP: I promise you that when I will have a device that support OpenGL ES 2.0 and C++ with STL apps – I will create that render system. Will that do? Edit: A portable...

    3d Engines ?

I'm posting in Ogre3d forums asking for OpenGL ES 2.0 support (there is a PocketPC port using OpenGL ES 1.0, but it's incompatible with OpenGL ES 2.0). Maybe if there are more people insterested they will do it. If they won't, I'll try to make that port (no promise, eh?).

    L + R Buttons

At the beginning, I also wanted 4 shoulder buttons because they are (almost) a necesity for some of my favourites PSX games. Now, I'm happy because I know people behind Pandora listened all people (like me) who wanted 4 shoulder buttons and tried to make it work... it didn't work and I can live...
