Since we've seen video of FF3 browsing on the Pandora, you can do this with mythweb. There's a link to download the video from your recorded programs page. However, it'll be much, MUCH faster to just pop your SD card into a reader on your myth backend and copy the file(s) manually...
Two things to keep in mind:
1. The original preorders were announced beforehand and a newsletter was sent out a few days before (if you signed up for it on the site), so it's not like the preorder for the second batch is going to pass you by.
2. After an overwhelming response in the first few...
Not as such. The few people I've talked to have set up a qemu instance to run an ARM system emulator, which is as close to an emulator as we're likely to get. As for an SDK, it's linux, so.. whatever your linux development environment is. You'll need to get a cross-compiler set up to compile...
That right there is the tricky part. I'm sure the dev team will eventually release enough details about the kernel they use for this to be possible, but I haven't seen those details published anywhere yet. They're not in the wiki or here on the forums. I'm not a kernel or driver developer...
You laugh, but this device should be able to handle a myth frontend. In fact, I'm working on getting my dev environment set up so I can create a minimal frontend for pandora using the gmyth libraries. I'll have to be within wi-fi range of my backend, but this should be very nice for lounging...
Indeed. My unbridled enthusiasm seems to have been, ahem, premature. :D
However, I'm still excited to hear someone with their hands on a dev board even say it's possible. I'd seen some posts on the forum that indicated it wouldn't be. Although in retrospect, if it can conceivably handle...
Maybe I wasn't quite clear -- the user doesn't necessarily even need to know there are command line parameters to configure, since most of the ports I've seen have been Pandora-specific. Since the hardware and OS are known quantities, you can distribute your app with a PXML file that contains a...
I kind of like the way mythgame handles this. You configure an entry for each emulator with a command line to launch it in fullscreen mode and point it at a directory that contains your ROM files. This automatically adds games into the menu. There's only one interface to deal with. Of...
Oh, you did. BTW, the new board is red, instead of green. But that's also been discussed.
For those not following along, look at the last couple pages here.
Personally, I'll probably have a number of SD cards, some of which are formatted with FAT32, some of which are formatted ext. I'll probably store data files (video, music, and ROMs) on a FAT32-formatted card so I can also use them in my Windows Mobile phone. I'll probably use ext2 or ext3 for...
As has already been stated, the first batch is sold out and they're not taking any more preorders. I'm not sure if they're even accepting preorders for batch 2 yet, since there's been no official announcement stating that there will even BE a second batch. Anything I've seen in the forums has...
Hope this thread is still open. My wish list has pretty much already been covered, with one exception - mythtv. I'm planning on getting a myth frontend up on my Pandora within the first few months. I've found evidence that it's already been ported to an ARM system, and it looks like it might...
