I went to a big store nearby so I could measure it up with my Caanoo. It's a 'Game Traveller' from RDS Industries.
There were a few soft cases that looked like they would fit, so I would think any soft case will be ok - though please note that I had to trim all the internal plastic that was...
Hey I just recieved my nice white one from you, and it's a beaut. Thanks for getting it to me so quickly. I'll be ordering some accessories some time soon!
I just got one. I've had a GP32 (still love it for the controller) and a GP2Xf100, and this kicks the GP2Xs arse.
The controller is waaaaay better. It's not quite as sweet as the microswitched GP32, but all I've installed so far is Mame4All, and playing tricky games like Amidar is no problem at...
I just picked up a Caanoo yesterday, and just got back from looking for a soft case.
The DS seems to be very close in size, so I got one of those.
You'll need to open one up to make sure it'll fit in there ok, but your chances are good that it will.
Cheers from me too Orkie - I'm setting myself up again with my old GP and couldn't find my cable.
As I remember it, with mac you absolutely needed one to format a SMC, with macgp32linker.
Can't beat the price either so I've ordered 2.
I'll tell you what, starting 'afresh' with the the GP32...
I just got back from a visit home to New Zealand. While there I grabbed my old GP32 (blu+) from a friend I'd mailed it to when I got my GP2X.
I've never really clicked (pun intended) with the GP2X - that microswitched stick on the GP32 has in my opinion never been outdone.
So I swapped the...
Nice. I gave my GP32 to a cobber back home last time we visited a few years back. What a bloody mistake that was.
I'm flying back there in April and am going to offer to swap for my GP2X.
The GP32 was and is the finest handheld emulator I've yet encountered.
Thanks for keeping developing...
No, the cap is in the same place as before. The metal shaft is still fully inserted, as deep as it will go. (I know, I know... :D
All that's changed is that the effective thickness of the shaft (this is sounding worse) has been reduced i.e. instead of a metal shaft inside a plastic shaft, now...
Travel is exactly as it is out of the box. If your GP2X is turned off it'll 'feel' no different to an unmodded unit.
But for whatever reason, 'feel' and accuracy improve a lot after removing most of the plastic shaft.
Just to reiterate: The cap is in the same place as before the mod, but most...
Well that makes sense at last, thanks Squidge.
I hadn't thought my unmodded shaft was touching, but it must have been, as even playing with the metal shaft only (cap completely off) it was 100% more responsive, if ergonomically a shocker!
Playing that way was what prompted me to start...
Well I have no problem with anyone saying this has done before, I just never saw it on the board.
Like I said, I fell into it purely through tinkering, so I'm not claiming ownership of the idea
I just hope folk get to do this mod', as it's turned my GP2X from a 'meh' to a 'do I have a spare 5...
