A 4th possibility would be to detect the position of Mouse cursor by doing a correlation of the screenbuffer with an image of the mousecursor. That would take far to much processing power, though (and require capturing an image of the mousecursor for every game, not to speak of applications with...
Thanks for the great videos, ED.
Yeah, that's probably due to overscan:

This area of the screen was cut off on most cathode ray tubes. NES has very similar artifacts when scrolling that are visible on any NES emulator but were invisible on TVs back then...
I ordered at EvilDragons shop:
Time ordered: 17:12 (I guess that's CET, I don't remember)
Date Ordered: Tuesday 30 September, 2008
Order Number: 2433
EvilDragon said once that he got roughly one fourth of all preorders (~1000) and that all of his orders until 21:00-23:00 were among the 250...
We had an interesting discussion about a pico laser projector recently. Laser projectors have quite a few advances over LCD projectors.
I'll wait until laser projectors are available (should be this March), even though they will be more expensive and probably suffer from teething troubles at...
Cyan worlds have written their own 3D engine for URU. It supported really insane texture resolutions for the time it was released. I'd assume porting this to OpenGL ES 2.0 will be possible, but quite a lot of work.
I decided to look up what our favourite emu faker is up to. Looks like he is still pretending to work on it:

Isn't that cute?
It's really happening, is it? We actually have to start thinking about actually using our Pandoras now, are we?
Thanks for populating the file archive, ED. :)
Just found this link in the "Media Reports" Thread:

This is fantastic: (mostly) factually correct, well written and funny. Is this by someone from the gp32x community? This would be the perfect text for an official...
What a constant up and down it is to follow this project. It is an interesting experience, that is for sure. And personally I'm glad and even proud being (even a little) part of it.
I see the problem, finding a scoring system that is fair to everybody and every kind of entry is going to be very very difficult, if not impossible. I don't have a solution for that, but in general I think the most important thing is, that the criteria are 1. fixed as early as possible (change...
Nice, a community coding competition. Great idea! Looking forward to the entries.
I'd like to donate 100 Swiss francs towards the prize pool.
Sucks that my Wiz screen has decided to die, but I'm getting a replacement on warranty.
EvilDragon made a video where he assembles a prototype case, it should give you a good idea on the difficulty of the assembly. Please keep in mind that it is the brittle prototype plastic, the final cases are supposed to be more sturdy.
Yeah, fiddling with the screen cable could be a problem. I guess the cable itself would not be expensive either, so they could add a few of those to each case set as a replacement if one breaks during assembly.

EvilDragon says the cases will be "a few Euro". If a single case is indeed that inexpensive I personally would have no problem with shipping all the Pandoras with the current cases and purchasing a replacement further down the road.
