    Drmd Source Code Released

Well it's kinda been said before but hey, I think everyone in this scene should stop by and say "thanks" :D Thanks for everything, and all the best with whatever you decide to do in the future!

    More Tv Out Wierdness

Not so fast! There's an important issue here: I've always thought that random bits were called "gubbins", yet you've referred to them as "gummins". What's the reason for that? What do other people think? On a trivial side-note, turning off the LCD when TV-Out is enabled is all done by the GP2X...

    GP32 Timer4 Interrupt

Err... Squidge, this is a GP32 thread :D Assuming that PCLK is MCLK/2, ie. 83MHz, then your pclk variable will be 83000000/2/100000 = 415. You haven't said what the prior value of TCFG0 is, so we don't know what the prescaler will be... I'll assume it's 0, so Prescaler1 won't have any effect...

    GP2X U-boot, Open2x, Hh, Img, Gcc, Cont

I don't really know about hacking u-boot or .img files, so I'll leave those to others. But you obviously didn't read the boot log very well, because right at the start it says: U-Boot 1.0.0 (Apr 20 2006 - 12:51:09) U-Boot code: 03E00000 -> 03E49610 BSS: -> 03E82208 IRQ Stack: 03ea3204 FIQ...

    Tvout Adaptor Question

The standard 4. What are you thinking of? As far as I know, connectors with more pins tend to be non-standard "intermediate" connectors for an adapter that provides other connections as well.

    GP2X Un-brick Via Uart

I've never seen that comment, but it certainly is interesting. Can you give a link / document name / page reference?

GP2X Does The Atexit() Function Work On The Gp2x?

As far as I know, atexit() isn't provided by the OS, it's built into the compiler and the runtime library. So to get a proper answer to your question, how about letting us know what toolchain you're using? It certainly could be made to work.

    Qemu For Gp2x?

It sounds like you're a little confused about what QEMU will give you. It will emulate an x86 PC, which is a good start, but you would also need an operating system inside QEMU and that's where the problems lie. You could possibly run DOS inside QEMU and get some sort of operation, but you...

    Firmware 2.0.0 Updater

Cristiano: sorry, I didn't provide many details did I? :) In any case, you're right about the devices. Digital cameras would certainly work, and I presume a Palm device would too. They don't have a special format do they? It does need to be FAT32. You can't "update" with 1.4 because the 1.4...

    Firmware 2.0.0 Updater

Cristiano, There's no way that I can think of to reverse the process. Everyone that has commented (here and elsewhere) that they had problems, has succeeded by trying a different card, or reformatting the card in a different device. Are you able to try either of these options?

    The Monster In My Pocket

Don't listen to TelcoLou, he's just cranky and old :) Although he's probably right about the forum... if you put this in "I need help" it would probably be more likely to be found by other people in the future who have the same question. There's no problem with overheating, no matter what else...

    Firmware 2.0.0 Updater

Hmm, I think you've probably got an SD card that is still incompatible with the new U-Boot. If you have a card reader, could you check that the GPH update files are still on the card? Also, try reformatting and then copying the files to it again. If the updating screen comes up then at least...

    Power Led Control?

I did some tests, by finding out which GPIO pins were set as outputs, and then toggling them to see what happened. I didn't find any that affected the power LED, so I think it is indeed hardware-only. Have you ever seen it flash under program control? If so, then maybe we need to look harder :)

    Firmware 2.0.0 Updater

You're welcome, glad it worked, thanks for the feedback :) That's a good point about the .img files getting deleted... I hadn't thought of that. Perhaps a better way would be put the uboot200.* files on the SD card, run the updater, and then use a card reader to put the other files on there and...

    Firmware 2.0.0 Updater

Hey all, I've been asked to make an updater for kernel 2.0.0, for people whose SD cards aren't recognised by the old U-Boot. That's quite a big task, because the updater needs to install the new U-Boot, kernel, file system, and that little sound that gets played at boot-up. However, everyone...

    Gp2x.co.uk - Still Waiting

I'm in New Zealand, and got the mail on May 30. My GP2X arrived about 3 days ago. I'm sure it's just a slowdown in the mail, try to be patient and it will arrive soon! :)

Robotics And The Gp2x, Is It Possible?

Hi nubie, No, the Samsung E810 level shifter won't do, because it's also an inverter. Logic-level serial comms has +5V (or +3.3V) for "1" and 0V for "0". RS-232 as used by the PC has -12V for "1" and +12V for "0" (actually, in general anything above +2V is taken as "0" and anything below about...

Robotics And The Gp2x, Is It Possible?

Hi gsx82, Nice job on the robot! It looks really impressive. You can't just connect the BX-24 serial port to the GP2X serial port, because the BX-24 is 5V and the GP2X is 3.3V. You may well damage the GP2X by connecting them directly. Unfortunately, level shifting 5V - 3.3V is a pain! You...

Is Anyone Working On A Firmware 2.0 Alternate Updater

Well, to be more precise, I have corrupted file system on my GP2X, (U-boot and kernel are fine). A bigger problem is that I have a broken serial adapter which could be fixed relatively simply and used to unbrick my gp2x... but I've chosen to reinvent the wheel and make myself a breakout box...

How Much Hz Does The Lcd Have?

The CPU sets the LCD timings, and the LCD tries to keep up :) You can certainly run it at 100Hz. You can also run it at less than 60Hz, although if you go too high or too low, then the display will start to flicker and look odd. One thing about high refresh rates is that the CPU has to read...
