Any Snes Fans In The House?

Transparencies are turned on. There are a couple of little graphical faults compared to the same sequence running on other emulators - this may well be my fault. I don't really know much about the SNES, and may have broken a few bits of the graphics emulation code by accident. I'm sure...

Any Snes Fans In The House?

Here's a quick look at Squidge's PandaSNES (working title). I've been working on the display code for a couple of days (Squidge's dev board has the wrong type of screen on it) and last night I finally got it running properly. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FFuAZch2aqA Please excuse my old...

I dunno, I could stand a bit more exposure to Suzi Perry. ;)

    Questions About The Pandora

Actually, one feature most people don't think about that I'm really loving is the long battery life. It's really great to be able to leave it running for hours and hours at a time while I'm working away. B)

Cor, how cool would it be to see the Pandora on the Gadget Show? B)

Any Jaguar Fans In The House?

Yes! You can get the Windows, Mac, and Linux versions of the emulator from here: http://www.yakyak.org/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=41691 Turning the throttle off is great because instead of getting faster most games get smoother the more CPU power there is. B)

Any Jaguar Fans In The House?

Oh, while I think, I realised yesterday that my antique camera only shoots videos at 15fps so the video on YouTube obviously won't have a frame rate any better than that. It looks very smooth in real life, and the colours are really vibrant thanks to the Pandora's new-fangled LTPS screen. You'll...

Any Jaguar Fans In The House?

I dare say I'll be having a good experiment with the different control possibilities in the fullness of time. :) Ah, interesting. I'll have to ask them about this.

Any Jaguar Fans In The House?

The Jaguar controller looked like this: Apparently Tempest 2000 has code in it to use a spinner - Jeff Minter says that Atari gave him a prototype spinner controller and had him add support for it, but they never put one into production. I'll have to talk to him and Dio about how that worked...

Pandora Alternative ...alternative Oss On The Pandora

That's (semi) good news! I hadn't heard that. :) Perhaps in time someone will do the work to allow it to be cross-compiled?

Pandora Alternative ...alternative Oss On The Pandora

RiscOs does run on modern ARMs (with 32-bit program counter). As far as I know it's still a commercial OS though, so if someone did port it you'd likely have to buy a copy. RiscOS on the Pandora would be very cool, though. B) My other nomination would be Haiku (a Beos-alike), but I don't...

    How Much Battery...

Probably more than you'd think compared to hard drive-based iPods and the like. They tend to spin up the drive briefly, read lots of tracks that are next in the playlist, then power the drive down again. General-purpose hard drives tend to run constantly, and so glug down a lot more power than...

What Do You Think The Pandora Should Feature First?

I've been tinkering with a couple of fairly demanding emulators this weekend, and it's pretty obvious to me that any emulator that runs at even a semi-playable rate on the GP2X will run at fullspeed on the Pandora after only a very quick port. It's only the new emulators that weren't possible...

New to me, anyway. Are they any good? Controls usable, etc?

Pandora's Emulators - What Will Work And What Won't

Oi! Why's "Atari Jaguar" still in yellow? ;)

Looks very nice! Apparently it's ARM-based, too. B)

Any Jaguar Fans In The House?

Interesting... Thanks for that. I must admit I went from impoverished student wishing I could afford a Jaguar back when it was current straight to porting Dio's emulator a few years ago, missing pretty much all of the scene inbetween. It is a very interesting system, though. It'd be a lot of...
