    I do not like wireless

I mostly agree with you, but Freud is probably the worst example of psychologists as scientists that you could have chosen. Darn near everything he believed has been thoroughly debunked at this point as hokum. Same goes for Jung and pretty much everybody of that era. The research is more...

    steam on openpandora?

Depends what games they are. I know that most, if not all, DOSbox games from Steam should work just fine once you copy them over and set them up. Then there's games like Quake where the datafiles may or may not work properly when imported into a source port. Most other games won't work at all...

Does Any Open Pandora Malware Exist?

Also most of the software is installed through the store and most of the apps that people want to use are compiled and ported by people that are known to the community. A stranger isn't necessarily going to be unwelcome, but it would be unlikely that they'd get more than a half dozen installs...

    Pandora vs Tablet

As long as you don't intend to use it outdoors or where you don't have control over the glare. Otherwise the devices that use a glossy screen are more or less unusable.

    Pandora vs Tablet

Not really, glossy screen sell better because they look better in the showroom. Despite the fact that they're much worse in rooms where you have any glare at all. But, since they're shinier they tend to sell well. I'm not sure why anybody would question the obvious superiority of matte screens.

    Pandora vs Tablet

I had a tablet last year and I hardly used it. My Pandy, OTOH, gets regular use and I'm still finding new uses for it. Then again, I don't use it to read books as I've got a proper ebook reader for that.

Open Source h264 codec (from Cisco)

Pretty much. When I initially switched to FreeBSD years back, the main annoyances were lack of flash support and having to be really particular about which GPU I bought. It's really unfortunate that companies are allowed to charge royalties on things that are necessary to properly use the web.

Selling GPL'ed Software (split from: "The current Pandoras price tag")

It only takes one person redistributing the code for it to be available for free to anybody that wants to use it. It's just plain silly to charge for GPL code and then count on it not being pirated as you've almost completely lost any enforcement rights over redistribution by using GPL...

    I do not like wireless

I agree. But, there's an awful lot of pseudo-science that even mainstream people believe in. Psychology is a good example. There's very little credible evidence to back any of that. And some of it is outright contradicted by work being done in terms of behavioral neurology. Probably the best...

    I do not like wireless

I've yet to see any credible evidence that WiFi is strong enough to have any meaningful impact. And last I checked the radiation coming from it was non-ionizing anyways, so it's not going to cause cancer. However, some devices that emit radiation do cause problems in some people. I could never...

    Best SNES emu

The "best" is BSNES, unfortunately, it'll never run on a Pandora, anything else is likely to be a bit hit or miss with regards to compatibility. You may well find that if you're interested in more obscure games that they may or may not be supported. But if you're just interested in playing...

Indeed, there is, however as of today, you still can't see any of the commercial apps there, unless you browse the repo directly from a web browser.

SCSI SD Card reader [Large picture warning]

Why is it that the practicality of a project is usually inversely related to the awesomeness of the project? Seriously, this is an awesome project, but I'm somewhat curious as to what use this is other than being awesome.

Anybody considering picking up an Oculus Rift..?

I certainly like the idea and will be really curious to how well it works out. I remember trying one of those set ups back in the '90s and wasn't terribly impressed. It was cool, but for $650 it wasn't really cool enough to justify. I'm personally more interested in CastAR, but I'd like to see...

FAQ for remaining Preorders of OpenPandora Ltd.

OK, that's probably what I was missing. I tend to resist assuming that everything will go swimmingly and try to consider reasonable possibilities. As I've said previously, I don't particularly care one way or another, I'm just skeptical that anything shy of a proper lawsuit in the normal venue...

    GOG.com sale Dec 12 & 13 -- Free Fallout 1,2,tactics

Was it legally online? Or was it online the way that Wasteland was online? A lot of the things on GOG were on abandonware sites and such in the past due to a lack of enforcement. Anyways, I know what you mean, but I've been better about not overspending there in the last year or so. Still they...

I quit my job to go full time Indie

Depends on the game. But one thing to realize is that you won't get much exposure here so you'll have to advertise and probably make sure to be a fixture around here. I hope that the people that handle the repositories will make a change so that commercial apps are visible from the handheld, as...

    GOG.com sale Dec 12 & 13 -- Free Fallout 1,2,tactics

It means they can't sell them after that date. The only case where a game might be removed is if it turned out that they didn't really have the right to sell it in the first place. In this case, the license holder is changing so anybody that buys before hand has a legal copy. What's more, it's...

    New Pandora?

Not in the US, unless that changed in the last week or so. Can't speak for Canada if that's where the OP is located.
