Headphones need amplification and the greater impedance, the greater the juice they need. Line out is a clean signal with no amplification at all, its purpose is to supply sound to a device that is going to add its own amplification, like a TV for instance.
Panda's DAC (Edit: not the dac, the amp :P ) can handle 8ohm and above. Anything below 8ohm can and probably will cause damage. The 150mW stated is for 16ohm, you will get higher power and less quality with 8ohm headphones (although they are hard to find, maybe some chinese crap ones) and lower...
I didn't meant to be hostile with the creation of this thread. If i am gloating, it's because this project is finally becoming a reality and not because i'll have my pandora and those who canceled won't since i didn't pre-ordered one.

Finding out that the factory change did cause all these problems and that they are hardware related is actually nice.. MW can now put all his efforts in making sure that the module is connected as it should since other changes could have been made by the factory without permission. I approve...
